Acer notebook stuck on windows xp screen with blue bots going across

i wold do a system repair on the notebook to see what that would do you would have to use the cd disc's that came with the computer or the one that has the windows xp loaded on to the disc.

If you blew away the partitions, then it doesn't know what to install itself on.

When you set up Windows from the disk, it prompts you to create partitions from empty space in the setup program (its a blue screen for 2000/XP). I think its literally the first or second screen, it will have a box and a yellow highlight line across that says something to the effect of 'partitioned space' (sorry working from memory here lol). Once you set up a partition, tell Windows to install on it, you should be fine.

Blue screen with a message on it = BSOD  Find the number of the error and google for it, you will get a general idea of what is causing it. 
The easiest way of fixing that is to backup your files and reinstall Windows.

Perform a System Restore to a date before the all this happened. If it still persists or if you need more help, please write it in the comments

Can you get it to boot using any of the options it gives other than boot normally? If the blue screen is caused by hardware then installing xp will still present the problem. If the blue screen is an operating system crash then using the recovery disk or doing a repair install will solve the boot problem.

If you still rather install xp then you need to go into BIOS and set 1st boot device as CD. To go into BIOS you will need to press F10 or F2 (usually) as displayed on the splash screen when you power on

You need to reload the Windows.

Have you tryed unplugging the HD and seeing if you can access the cmos?

start up windows in safe mode and see if you still get the problem. did you use the same vga cable???

check the hardware compatablity list for windows if the Acer AL1916W 19" LCD is included then get the appropriate driver and install it
