I have a wd-60735 tv if i hook up a convertor box to it i get air channles if i just hook up the antenna to it it wont find any channells what could be the problem? Thanks

As of 6/12/09, the over-air broadcast signals went to digital (ATSC) only. Your set does not have and ATSC tuner so it can not receive the new digital signals. The converter box converts the ATSC signals to the NTSC channel 3 or 4.

How do I scan the channels on a Panasonic 1080i HDTV? This is for the conveter box hooked up to the DVD/VCR to the Panasonic 1080i HDTV'

The cable to the antenna and another cable from the TV needed to be hooked up and THEN follow the directions that came along with the converter box.
Channel 3/4 and scan., be sure the antenna is strong enough.

There was no need to touch the DVD/VCR box.

How do L set up the converter with a TV , a vcr and "Dish" satte

It sounds like you need a three way splitter.
You need to reverse the connections; the splitter has input and out. Hook exterior antenna, converter box, and satellite to the three side terminals (out). Hook the single sided terminal to VCR input. Connect the VCR out to the TV input. This configuration assumes that you will be using the VCR to record from all inputs. The TV has to be set to channel 3 to act as a monitor for your other devices.
Hope this solves your dilemma.

If you have the box connected to the TV using an RF cable to the TV's antenna input, make sure the TV is on channel 3. You should at least see the boxes menu display when the power is on. Try channel 4 if you see nothing on 3. Every box I've hooked up has been on channel 3 by default, but who knows?

If you can, hook the box to the TV using direct video and audio connections, and make sure the TV is set to the correct input.

Unless the box you bought has "RF pass-through" (and if you got your box using a government coupon, it's a sure bet it doesn't) you will notice a marked drop in quality if you try to watch regular broadcasting with the box connected. I've been installing these with a bypass arrangement so people can still watch their analog broadcasts until they go off the air in February.

If the box does in fact have no display when you turn it on and your TV is on the correct channel, your box is defective and should be returned and replaced.

I just had a similar problem with this box - For the first month or two, I got the local NBC affiliate (KING-5 in Seattle) just fine on 5.1, then, after fiddling with my antenna setup, I lost it completely - NOTHING I could do would get it back. I tried a bunch of stuff - Multiple types of antenna, adding an antenna amp box, a handful of "homebrew" antennas - Nada. Yet all my other channels came in fine (although a couple were right on the edge - This box seems to need a "17" or higher on the signal strength - Some of my channels were reading in the 15-18 range, and suffering the "blockies" and sound dropout)

After hitting TVfool.com, found out that the KING digital signal is actually broadcasting on channel 48. Punched in 48.1, and there it was, clear as a bell, using nothing but a "wick" antenna (Basically, strip 4-1/4 inches of the outer braid off one end of a piece of co-ax cable, leaving the center wire alone, then plug the other end into the box) getting me a 23 signal strength. But a second or two later, the box is displaying "5.1" - Weirdness...

Reconnected a near top-of-the-line Winegard Yagi/Log-periodic antenna - VERY directional, and has some gain all by itself - and the signal jumped above 50.

Still couldn't "channel-up/channel-down" or punch in "5.1" to tune it, though - Channel 5.x was a "dead zone" as far as the box was concerned.

Re-did the "autoscan", and now, it's back to normal - I can channel-up/channel-down to it at 5.1, or I can punch it in as 5.1, or I can punch it in as 48.1, and it's all good.

So, try re-doing the auto-scan. Worked for me...

I have no idea how to get channels to tune in.

In order to get a picture of what is going on you must understand what is happening. The cable box converts all channels to channel three or four depending on what it was intitially set on. That means that you have only one channel coming into the tv. So you cannot program the set. You just have to put the TV on Channel 3 or 4 and leave that alone. Do not try to program the TV. Then change the channels on the cable box. The hitch is that there are several ways to hook a cable box to your set. One is with the RF connector, which is the screw on one, into either Antenna A or B. and the other is through the AV cables which are yellow, red and white. Yellow for video, red for right audio and white for left audio. If your box is hooked to the AV input then you must use the INPUT button on the tv to select the proper AV input. On that set there are several.

THE CONVERTER BOX HAS R.F. OUTPUT. JUST HOOK IT UP AND PUT THE T.V. ON CHANNEL 3.(OR WHAT EVER THE INSTRUCTIONS THAT CAM WITH THE BOX) YOU WILL NEED TO CHANGE THE CHANNELS WITH THE REMOTE THAT CAME WITH THE BOX. YOU MIGHT NEED TO SET UP THE BOX (SCAN FOR CHANNELS) THAT IS ALL IN THE INSTRUCTIONS THAT CAME WITH THE BOX.
