Blue pilexlation on 42 inch samsung plasma

Hi mattblue16,

I saw your post about the firmware upgrade on your samsung plasma that got rid of the blue pixels problem. I am a week out of warranty on my Samsung 42 inch plasma and they are playing dumb and giving me the runaround on the problem. Can I ask if samsung were the ones that fixed the problem on yours or was it a 3rd party repair? Also what is your model #? Just trying to see if this is a problem they know about so that I can hold their feet to the fire.

Thanks,
Omar

I have the same issue on my 42 in Samsung -- a blue haze appears on the left side after about an hour or two of use.

  • landoh Dec 19, 2008

I have the same blue haze taking over the left side of my plasma, the repair shop replaced the smps and ajusted the voltage. This does not fix the problem, it just puts a blanket over the real problem, you need to fight and get the optical block replaced.

How can i change the voltage? Thank you!

Hi, this is Tee and I had someone come out and look at my 42 Plasma and that is exactly what they did. They adjusted the voltage and 6 months later I have the same issue. What is causing this problem. It's becoming a pain and I'm really debating on buying another samsung or plasma.

There is no upgrade to fix this problem, you need to adjust the VS-voltages and the V-scan voltages

Fault to its main board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ . In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.

The first thing I would do is check firmware and see if there is a need for upgrade. You can google this or just go to Akai website and ask or even call them.

THE MENU KEEPS POPPING UP ON THE SCREEN CONTINOUSLY ON MY 42 INCH

I had an LG 37" LCD that did this to me. Turned out to be bad solder joints on the side button board. Just reflowed and it starting working fine.

But now that I think about, I had another set do the same thing, only it wasn't the button board. I had to upgrade the TV's firmware via the USB service port. Just needed a USB flash drive and downloaded the firmware from the mfg's website. There were easy to follow instructions there too!

Blue snowy pixel areas on my plasma

some of these panels were mis-calibrated from the factory after not aging long enough. Let the TV run for atleast 2 hours and adjust the Vs and Vscan voltages. When it is blue in the left I have found generally the Vs is about 10 volts too high.
