Despite the magic it performs in the kitchen, a dishwasher is actually quite simple--it is essentially a watertight box that sprays dishes with hot water and soap, drains out the dirty water, and then dries the dishes.
Hot water is delivered through a supply hose that connects to a valve that controls the water's distribution to spinning spray arms.
A pump gets rid of the dirty water, and an electric heating element dries the dishes. All of this is operated by controls that may be very simple or quite complex.

on a dishwasher an ohmmeter is almost useless. the best way to check is to look for voltage. at the door switch check for voltage to ground on both sides. if you have 120 on both sides of the switch then follow the wire over to the control board. if you have 120 going into the control board and nothing coming out of the control then you nood to start looking for a broken neutral. however the likelyhood that its the control panel may be a better idea especially if you are hitting buttons and nothing happens. try reseating any ribbon cables

The location of the parts in a dishwasher is well shown on the link below please check this out. Now you must get the same part number spare before the old one is removed. The wires then removed must eb connected one at a time and so you will not cross the circuit. Please Also check the link below: For spares click On:
