Question about Mitsubishi VS-6043 60" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Same problem as nickatnight (no picture but clicking/poping noise)

As i say in the title my mitsubishi vs6043 has no picture or sound but clicks/pops when you turn the tv on. it has a solid green power light. i saw from the post that i looked at before that you commented on that you recomended on replacing the flyback transformer. i did that today and still no luck. i remember you mentioning the horizontal amplifier but i could not find any part number or anything in my service manual for this tv. i saw that another person had a similar problem and they replaced 2 caps the c5a28 and the c5a03 and it fixed their problem is this a possible solution or would i be just throwing parts at this. any help would be appreciated

Thanks
Bruce

Its possible that you could rectify the problem by changing the caps..but identifying the faulty ones is a bit of a pain and would require the services of a professional.. I could help you,but I m just too far away :)

Sounds like your bulb poped, They are easy to change, there should be an access panel on the back, here is a link to the bulb for your model.

No Picture but still has sound

Hi,do you hear any strange noises? If you hear clicking or like wanting to turn on it could be the board that powers the lamp it's called the ballast. Here's the instructions to replace it :http://www.fixyourdlp.com/guides/samsung/bp47-00033a.php It's major symptoms are clicking, electrical sounds, shuts off and on and get the lamp indicator. But if you don't hear any strange noises,tv is around 6000 hrs,2-4 yrs,It's major symptoms are clicking, electrical sounds, shuts off and on and get the lamp indicator, it could be time to replace the lamp. The lamp you need is 915P049010. you can find it here: http://www.discount-merchant.com/Mitsubishi-915P049010-Lamp-Replacement-p/mitsubishi-915p049010-lamp.htmHave a blessed one!

Why is my 62" Mitsubishi rear projection TV making a clicking sound and has no picture?

The flyback transformer may be leaking. The clicking sound may be arcing noise coming from the flyback.

Loud poping noise

It sounds like the popping noise you heard was a capacitor blowing its top somewhere in the tv. Sorry I cannot be more specific but if you manage to find out where this cap has gone also check any resistors near it as they can be also damaged. If you cant do this call out a competant technician. Good luck.

Well, you can use most of the parts, except that the shape of the boards are different, so you cant exchange the entire board as such.
