Question about Mitsubishi VS-6043 60" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Same problem as nickatnight (no picture but clicking/poping noise)

As i say in the title my mitsubishi vs6043 has no picture or sound but clicks/pops when you turn the tv on. it has a solid green power light. i saw from the post that i looked at before that you commented on that you recomended on replacing the flyback transformer. i did that today and still no luck. i remember you mentioning the horizontal amplifier but i could not find any part number or anything in my service manual for this tv. i saw that another person had a similar problem and they replaced 2 caps the c5a28 and the c5a03 and it fixed their problem is this a possible solution or would i be just throwing parts at this. any help would be appreciated

Its possible that you could rectify the problem by changing the caps..but identifying the faulty ones is a bit of a pain and would require the services of a professional.. I could help you,but I m just too far away :)

Wy dose the tv always make noise like some is poping inside it

popping inside electronics usually means it's power supply internally may be going bad.

Some units have "switching power supplies" and you might hear a very light click when it switches. Loud pops or frequent louder clicks are a bad sign.

No Picture but still has sound

Hi,do you hear any strange noises? If you hear clicking or like wanting to turn on it could be the board that powers the lamp it's called the ballast. Here's the instructions to replace it : It's major symptoms are clicking, electrical sounds, shuts off and on and get the lamp indicator. But if you don't hear any strange noises,tv is around 6000 hrs,2-4 yrs,It's major symptoms are clicking, electrical sounds, shuts off and on and get the lamp indicator, it could be time to replace the lamp. The lamp you need is 915P049010. you can find it here: a blessed one!

Technition called it freon noise

Sounds really strange to me. Not sure what kind of patch he could have used. I've never heard of "freon noise". Clicking and popping could be the thermal overload tripping and resetting. The unit should still be under warranty. I would contact them to get another tech and another opinion. It would be best to get this resolved before the warranty wears out.

Well, you can use most of the parts, except that the shape of the boards are different, so you cant exchange the entire board as such.
