Question about Mitsubishi WD-62525 62" Rear Projection HDTV

Lamp Light flashing Yellow

Hello all!

I found this forum searching around online and I have not found 1 person with my problem!!

I have a Mitsubishi DLP WD-62525.

I turned on the TV the other day and it said that the lamp needed to be replaced. Ok no big deal. I ordered a bulb online. It was NOT the assembly. I simply pulled the old bulb out of its "assembly" and put the new one in. I put it into the TV and then plugged it in.

I hear a click which sounds like something is trying to power on or something like that. I hear a click (the power light comes on for about 1 second tops) then nothing. the only thing you can see is a flashing yellow light (the one that says lamp). I've tried to hit the reset button but that didn't work. I tried calling around to several people in town and no one seems to either want to help or has any idea of what the problem is!

ANY help is appreciated!!

Thanks!

Matt

Double check the lamp.make shure the 2 wires were installed correctly.Also check the plug inside the tv where the lamp plugs in.They have a nasty habbit of coming loose.

SOURCE: MIT WD-62525 DLP TV blinking green light on front won't stop

Hi!

It means your TV needs to reset. Although you have reset it previously, now again reset the TV as per procedure given below:

Please press the SYSTEM RESET button on the front panel with a pointed item such as the point of a ball point pen or end tip of a paperclip.

The TV will turn off and the green LED will flash quickly for about one minute. After the green LED stops flashing, turn on the TV again. The changes you made while the TV was most recently on, before you used the SYSTEM RESET button, may be lost; the changes you made previously, however, are not lost. Only those changes since the last power on may be lost when the system reset button is pressed. All other settings are retained.

TV Reset Menu

Read on-screen warnings before proceeding, as some user data or settings may be erased.

1. Press TV MENU and then 1, 2, 3 to see the RESET SERVICE MENU to reset the TV.

2. Select Reset System Defaults (CAUTION: All settings, except V-Chip, will be reset to the original factory defaults.

Please do rate this solution as FixYa and revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

the lamp went out in our wd-62525. I replaced it and cleaned the filter, now it makes a strange noise every few minutes and the picture gets distorted, then it's fine.We have had this set for only 16 months and have had to replace the mother board. What do you think the problem may be?

We have a Mitsubishi TV model# WD-60735.. we have changed the lamp because it was flashing red but now its flashing yellow and the tv will not turn on..

Mitsubishi TV troubleshooting
Here's something that might also be useful. After you turn on the set, and get the regular red blinky lights, hold down the Device and Menu buttons together for about 5 seconds.
The Power light will start to flash in a two digit sequence.
For example, 3 flashes, then 7 flashes = 37.
Here are the error codes, and the corresponding problem:
12 = No error detected, check power supply.
32 = Lamp Cover is open.
33 = Air filter cover is open.
34 = Lamp abnormality
36 = Light Engine (DMD or Lamp Fan stopped)
37 = Exhaust or Lamp Ballast Fan stopped
38 = Lamp Temperature High
39 = DMD Temperature High
41 = Short is detected
44 = DVI cable between FMT and Engine disconnected

Hi, have you replaced the lamp after 2-3 yrs of usage? The lamps used by mitsubishi tend to last around 4000 hrs 1-3 yrs.It is common for the green light to light up.Other common failures are the ballast which is the board that powers the lamp.Also check if its not overheatin, dust out the fans.Heres where u can get the lamp or ballast http://www.discount-merchant.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=wd-52631

I installed a new lamp, but my tv doesn't come on. The lamp light keeps flashing yellow.

Could be Bad Ballast,or defective cooling Fan, Lamp fan.
Encompass Parts Distribution 1-800-638-3328
If Lamp Fan is not running when lamp trys to come on TV will turn off in order to protect the Lamp
The Ballast Board is what turns the Lamp ON.

There may be a capacitor issue with that unit. Here is a link to a thread on help to repair that if it is an issue.

Sony kf-60XBR800 lamp

Count the flashes of the standby light and the gap between the flashes as the tv is giving you the exact error code for the fault this way. Then check in the handbook and sony forums for the solution. Personally I have found ALL sony products to be like a spoilt rich kid, replace the parts with genuine sony, if you dont it mis-behaves itself in ways never seen before. Good luck.
