SOURCE: how hard is it to install a new CCD SENSOR my sony

The sensor is not replaceable by the consumer. You don't have the tools, the alignment equipment, or the expertise required. Even Sony won't fix it...they will send you a factory-refurbished model after charging you almost as much as a new camera. Besides, the sensor is probably not the cause of your problem....sounds more like a lens problem. And no, you can't replace the lens either.

The photos taken by my Coolpix s70 are consistently blurry. I've changed the resolution to 8M with no improvement. I've tried Auto settings, various scene settings to no avail. Is there another setting...

if you don t have a ccd faulty????
its probably that you have change the iso. and the iso are to high. contol this selction. if the camera dont have betterement, it s very probably that the problem is in the ccd sensor. you can search on the international ebay seller, the lens block of your camera with ccd. or if you are lucky it s probably that you find only the ccd.
to change the ccd sensor of one camera you must have specific knowledge. but any seller sell to you the lens bloc with ccd and on installation guide. if you decide to change the sensor write to me and i will see to help you better as possible...why i am to far away from you..i am from rimini italy.

Unable to view target

This is the infamous CCD sensor problem I think. Only way to fix is to install new CCD block . The job itself is easy to carry out even though you will have to open the camera ( CCD sensor sits behind the lens underneeth the main PC board. The problem is to get hold of the new component.  I would find out from your agent who imports the camera wether they replace and carry out the repair free of charge ( Sony and Canon do repair this particular problem free of charge ) so contact them.

Fuji Finepix S5000 ccd sensor

Send it to the Fujifilm camera repair center. The S5000 has a known issue with bad CCD sensors... Unless you want to do it yourself.

No image

Bad news is that it is CCD sensor that seems faulty ( and only way to repair this fault is to replace the CCD block ) but the good news is that Nikon repairs this problem free of charge on this model even if your warranty has expired. Contact Nikon and have a new CCD sensor installed.

JVC mini cam DVL300

Two possibilities : tape guide mechanism in the VTR needs replacing/adjustment or more likely CCD sensor is outputting a 'noisy' image and the CCD sensor block must be replaced. Many manufacturers of v-cams will repair this fault ( CCD sensor ) free of charge. Find out.

Palmcorder pv-L452D

Typical CCD sensor problem ...replace CCD block. This is normally due to a faulty component being installed so even if your camera is out of warranty try to have it done free of charge.

Z3 shows only blackness

Yes this is an obvious CCD sensor fault. But first thing to do is to see if Minolta repairs this fault on this model free of charge. If not it will cost +- $200 to have a new sensor installed.

Everything is pink

This looks like first stage of CCD sensor failure ( it is starting to output 'noisy' signal )gets worse so that the sensor eventually outputs nothing and you will get blank shots. Ask Pentax if this model with CCD problems is repaired free of charge since most manufacturers do it for nothing or only charge for labour to have a new sensor installed.
