Thanks for your help. The printer will print a copy of an already printed document. However, it will not print a document from the computer. I hope you understand what I am trying to say.

Hp usually has problems with cartridges or mechanic system, those are the two more coomon issues... in cartridges case the only secure way is to replace them, first replace the chearper one, if it keeps giving problems just change the other and that should be it. Unfortunately I cannot recommend you to do anything else cuz I dont know your level of knowledge and you could make a mayor damage because of a simple problem like this one... You can only try to clean the cartridges contacts and heads and the printer contacts with isopropilic alchohol, but I wouldnt recommend more than that.

Hope this helps.

    hi, yes I understand, but:
1: did the cartridge error dissapear? if so and then you cannot print a new document from your computer you must check connections.
the USB or parallel connection from the computer to the printer. (make sure the cable is in perfect state, just in case buy a new one of good quality)

2: if the cable is OK then reconfigure your printer software... The best way will be completely uninstall your printers driver and software and reboot your computer, then reinstall it all over again.

If that way the printer still not working normally I would ask you to get back to me.

    best luck!

INkCartrige error 50c. Will not print. Display this note each time I try to make copy or print from computer.

Hi there

You should always mention the printer model as well as what operating system you use.

This is what i found on LEXMARK's website about your error, and it seems you have one or 2 faulty cartridges, or you are using compatible cartridges instead of Lexmark Originals:

Are you using Dell Series 11 ink cartridges?

Open the printer with the power on and remove the Dell Series 11 black ink cartridge and make sure the tape is off the cartridge, then reseat the cartridge back in. Now do the same for the Dell Series 11 color cartridge. Now when you close the printer, it should print an alignment page. Any error messages?

Are you using Dell Series 5 ink cartridges?

If you unplug the printer from the wall and remove the power brick for 60 seconds, this will reset any error messages the printer has. I would then plug everything back in.

Power on the printer.

Open the printer(with the power on) and take out the Dell Series 5 black cartridge and then reseat it. I would then take out the color Dell Series 5 ink cartridge and reseat it. Now close the printer and it will print an alignment page.
