This may sound goofy but it works. Discharge the battery completely. Put it in the freezer over night. Thaw out the battery completely... not cool to the touch then recharge it.
take the battery out and hold the power button for like 15 seconds. then put battery baCK on and plug it in but do not try to power on. lets saee what goes? remember not to power on
The battery pack is, likely bad and will need replaced. Batteries don't hold up well sitting around for 10 years. The stress of charging may have finished off the batteries completely. When the batteries short out internally, the shaver wont run from the cord either. Before ordering batteries you'll want to make sure the old ones have not corroded badly and ruined the circuit board. To check it out, remove the four screws on the back and remove the back cover. Lift out the circuit board and inspect it to make sure there are no burns.
If everything looks to be in good shape, installing a new battery pack will probably be all you need to do. You will fin the correct battery pack at shaveroulet.com. See link below
Charge the unit over night, Plug in the AC charger and you should see a lightning bolt over the battery bar graph display.
With the charger plugged in, gently press and hold the on/off power until the screen goes black and displays the text "Charging battery". After a few seconds, the screen will go black to conserve power. At any time, you can press the screen and it will light up saying its still charging.
If you let it go over night, when you touch the screen, it will say Charging Complete and you can then remove the charger. You should have full green bars on the battery indicator.
