Question about Argox OS-214 Label Printer

Error on feeding and printing

My printer throws an error just feeding the media. the power and ready lights blinks alternately. According the manual this error is because the ribbon, but i 'm not using ribbon. why does it occurs? any help? thank you.

    Changing different type of media (label ) when printing skipping label occur READY AND MEDIA light was blinking and the printer was out of order. I check the media ( label and ribbon ) was in good condition.

the problems are :-

  • cartridges are not recognised or installed
  • there is a paper jam.

  1. Check that the printer cartridge door is completely closed.
  2. Load media into the correct input tray.
  3. Check that the print cartridge is correctly installed in the printer. (See the user guide for information about changing the print cartridge.)
  4. Check for any media jams and clear them. (See the user guide for information about clearing jams.
  5. Check that the left side panel is completely closed. If the left side panel is completely closed, open the left side panel and push the door sensor. Occassionally, if the left side panel appears closed, the sensor will still remain in the open position, generating this error. Pushing the sensor will shut the door tight, returning the printer to the normal mode.

The red triangle light with the "!" in it keeps flashing. I've just printed some things off but now it's not printing. Need it to print obviously..


ATTENTION light(triangle): Indicates that the print-cartridge door is open, print cartridge is missing, and other errors.

If ATTENTION and READY light is blinking:

Printer initialization
The printer is initializing.
No action is necessary.

Cleaning mode
A cleaning page is printing.
Wait until the cleaning page has finished and the printer is in the Ready state.
This could take up to two minutes.

If ATTENTION and READY light is on:

Fatal error
Turn off the printer, and then unplug the printer power cord for 30 minutes.
Plug the printer power cord into the power outlet, and then turn the printer on.
If the error persists, replace the printer.

If ATTENTION light is blinking and READY light is off:

  1. Attention: door open, no print cartridge, or media jam
The printer is in an error state that requires operator intervention.
Check the following:
? The print cartridge door must be completely closed.
? The print cartridge is correctly installed.
? There is no media jam.

2. Out of memoryThe printer is out of memory.
The page you are printing might be too complex for the printer's memory capacity.
Try lowering the resolution.

When the printer has big green light and a orange light what does this mean?


Do you mean that the orange attention light is lit and the Go button/light is lit? If the attention light is blinking, then the printer is in manual feed mode or out of memory.

Put in the media and press the Go button. To reset the media selection, go to the Printer Properties. When printing from an application, click Print and then Properties. From the Printer control panel (Start > Devices and Printers (on recent Windows versions) or Start > Settings > Printers (on older OS versions - prior to XP).) In either case right click on the printer icon and choose Properties or Printing Properties.

If you have too large a file (too many large images) and are out of memory, stop and cancel this file in the print spooler. Then reprint with a lower resolution. (This is in the Print Quality options. See the above and then the Paper/Quality or Finishing tab) Options will vary depend on the OS. Alternatively, add memory to the printer.

If the Ready light is also lit, the error depends on the pattern. If the lights are blinking in rotation, then the printer is initializing or printing a test page. If the lights are steady, you have a fatal error. Try unplugging the printer for at least 5 minutes (remove all cords from both the wall, computer and printer for the best chance of clearing the error.) If the error persists, the printer needs service. If all of the lights are blinking together, than you have an accessory problem. Try removing the memory. You may be able to reseat the sticks; alternatively replace the memory.

This message is displayed while the printer is processing a current job, but has not begun to pick pages. Processing...(job name) From Tray XX Ready LED is blinking.

This message comes up for any job, once the printer starts to pick paper. Manual Feed or Continuable Error

The printer is attempting to Manual feed, media is not loaded in the paper tray, media loaded is the wrong size or type. Verify that the correct media is loaded.

Press and release the GO button to continue printing. Out of memory

The printer is out of memory. The page you are printing might be too complex for the printers memory capacity. Try lowering the resolution. See Understanding print quality settings for more information. Door open, media out, no print cartridge, or media jam

The printer is in an error state that requires operator intervention or help. Check the following:
  • The print cartridge door is completely closed.
  • Media is loaded.
  • The print cartridge is correctly installed in the printer.
  • There is no media jam.
Printer initialization

A printer initialization is taking place. No action is necessary. Fatal error

All lights are on.
  • Unplug the printer for 30 minutes, and then plug it back in.
  • If the printer still has an error, contact HP Support.
All lights are off.
  • Verify that the printer is turned on.
  • Make sure that there is power.
  • Unplug both ends of the power cord, and plug them back in.
Job Cancel

All the LEDs cycle. Canceling...(job name)

The Job Cancel button was pressed and the job is aborted. Power ON

All the LEDs cycle. Checking Paper Path and Checking Printer

This only occurs at power up. Cleaning mode/Engine test

A cleaning page or engine test page is printing.

I get a series of blinking orange lights and a green pause.


Hi Mike, the paper feed switch doesn't feed paper... it switches the paper source from the top feeder to the bottom tray. Do you have paper in both? How many times does the orange light flash in between the greens? That tells the error.

Blink alternately or not? If alternately, the message is not "general error". but "service required" It's true to reset waste ink counter. But, i think it's not service required. when trun on printer ready? But when start to print red lights blink at same time? Problem with chip at ink tank. Check connector at chip and at head carriage. It's may be dirty, and not good connection. try to use another chip.

currently, the error you have is not a service errorl, ready and alarm blink means that you have either a paper jam, no paper, or a paper misfeed.

do you get this error only when you try to print?
according to the service manual the lights can not alternate in blinking.

There is a red light flashing


From the OKI site, I found this information. My problem is a Flash 2 Blink, which is a problem with the cover or minor error, whatever that means. I can't figure out how to fix it. Any suggestions greatly appreciated!
