Every time i try to play a online game my router goes out. how do i stop that from happening

What do you mean it goes out? if there is no power you need to get a new one, but if your refering your internet connection goes out. You need to call your internet service provider for opening the port for your 2wire. 2wire has its own firewall so you need to open it

Wireless Internet through 2Wire router not working

First of all change your router to WPA rather than WEP. WEP is easily cracked now and is not secure. That might be what your laptop is looking at.

Secondly, update the wireless drivers to the current version from the website.

Make sure your router is broadcasting on 'auto' (802.11a/b/g, and N if supported), It ay be broadcasting only on, say 11g and your laptop doesn't support it. Updating the wireless drivers may also fix this.

I have the 2wire dsl modem and a linksys router no connection.

Linksys is the problem. (unreliable quality)
Call their help (in India) and hope you can understand what they saying :)

Get a Belkin router.
It's much easier to setup and a lot more reliable.

Have SBCglobal with 2wire but want N wireless capability

Follow the dots -

2 wire DSL wire to back of DSL modem.

Ethernet cable out of DSL modem, to current router (if you have one).

Ethernet cable out of current router (if you have one) to new Wireless N router.

If you currently have a wireless G router, keep it, or, use the new Wireless G/N router alone. You will need to set up all security settings again if you remove your current router, and if the new router is N only, you will need to make sure all your wireless connecting computers have wireless N cards in them.

Connecting 2wire modem./router to extra linksys router

to get this right you must make sure that the 2wire will be configured to be your gateway which means that the 2wire itself will be connected to the internet then set the linksys to DHCP mode because if you dont it will give you a router behind router error , make sure that the 2wire is properly authenticated and connected to the internet to make sure access the gui by typing gateway.2wire.net on your browser and run system set up wizard

Wireless router

What is the make and model of your router?

What type of internet access do you have (DSL or cable)?

Are you connecting the computer with a cable or via wireless?

If you have verified that the cable connections are correct then I would try to power cycle next.

1. Unplug the modem, router and turn off the computer.
2. Plug the modem in and wait 5 minutes.
3. Plug the router back in.
4. Turn the computer back on.

Let me know the details for the above questions if we need to go further.
