Question about Xerox WorkCentre XD125F All-In-One Laser Printer

Printer Stopped What is a J2 Error? I replaced the toner cartridge with a new one and the J2 Error appears a few seconds after the copier has warmed up. A red light has been on between a squiggly on the left and a triangle on the right - I assumed this was a "toner low" indication and I continued to use the copier because there usually is weeks of toner left.

    Accessed on-line manual for this copier @ the Xerox web site. J2 is for the J2 Drum Cartfidge that needed to be replaced. Called Xerox - Speaking to “Marty” in Dallas from Xerox @ 5:25 pm EDT Thursday, the “13R551” will be shipped today from Los Angeles and for $8.63 it will be Fed-Xed for delivery before 5:00 pm tomorrow, Friday. “Ain’t this a great country or what?” For a Total of $216.57 the cartridge was waiting for me when I got home Friday. I installed it and the Copier is working fine. All this happened is about a 24 hour period. They (Xerox) convinced me "BUY XEROX".

J2 is the drum cartridge, or some people call it print cartridge has reached the end of its life.
J1 is the toner cartridge, J2 is the drum.

Toner exhausted and replace toner how can solve this error without replace new cartridge


When the toner cartridge is exhausted or empty then the printerwill not be able to print further documents or the prints will be very faint. You may be able to print a few more pages by removing thetoner cartridge and shaking the toner cartridge in a horizontal position a fewtimes and then placing it back into the printer. This will give you an opportunity to print a few more pages and giveyou time to purchase a new toner cartridge for your printer. A cheaperalternative is to purchase a re-manufactured toner cartridge for your modelprinter. A re-manufactured printer cartridge also replaces worn partsas well as refilling with toner powder.

J2, toner low, but powder in toner cartg. Remove


All this means is that your toner is getting low and advising you before it is out completly the it needs replacing.

Drum Cartridge XE Series P8 part number 13R553 Printer code J2


With "J2" flashing, press:
1. "CLEAR" button
2. "AUTO" button, then again
3. "CLEAR" button
4. "AUTO" button

Do it fairly quickly. If it's done quickly enough the display goes off. When it does:
5. enter "2" and "4" (see "24" on display)
6. Press "START/COPY"
7. Press "7"
8. Press "START/COPY"
DONE

If display doesn't go off repeat steps 1 to 4 but faster, until display is off.

J1 Error, Changed a brand new factory-sealed toner, still getting J1 Error


Make sure you have the right code: J1 or J2.
one is for the drum and the other is for the ink.
Make sure the toner unit is for this model and not for a different model.
If the old modual is still available, check the connectors at the back and see if they are the same.
If anything else Call Xerox for repair. If the cartridge was bought through Xerox have your reciete available for warrenty.
If repairs still need to be made, A Xerox service call may be needed in order to fully repair the copier and warrenty the cartridge.

J2 Error on XD125F


With that machine, what frequently happens is the flag in the drum unit falls down during shipping and does not swipe the drum replacement switch.
You can do one of 2 things, Exchange the drum cartridge or, on the front of the cartridge you have to remove the green cover, Remove the clip and pop off the gear cluster. Then look at the one gear in particular that has a flag like protrusion. Rotate it so that it stops up and to the right, so that when you place the drum back into the machine it can rotate down and hit the switch that tells the machine you replaced the drum.
That flag only runs a half turn, one time at install. And if it has fallen in shipping hte J2 will not clear.
That is what has happened. It is pretty common.

J2 means the drum cartridge needs replaced.
Its next to the toner.

J2 Error


check for a paper jam in the machine and in the paper tray, if no paper is found take out toner cartridge shake it slightly and reinstall. Also turn machine off & unplug. Let me know if you need more help.

Konica minolta error


I had the same problem and found that one of the toner cartridges must have not been seated properly. I removed the black toner cartridge and re-fitted it. The printer now works fine again with no errors. 17H is a code relating to a fault in the rotation ......... possibly one or more toner cartridges need checking. Use the menu on the printer to turn it to the appropriate position (i.e. engine menu then select replacement of whichever toner you are checking).
