Question about HP Pavilion dv6000z Notebook
There is probably a short in the AC adapter wire. You could test it with a multimeter to see if the voltage fluctuates when you wiggle the wire.
Also try running to notebook without the battery to rule out a bad battery.
Some amount of heat is normal though.
