Question about Keyboards & Mice

Cant install microphone

I bought a MVOX Mv100 microphone. This is what the instructions say:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
miniVvox MV100 Setup Instructions
_____________________________
(1) Connect the USB cable to the miniVox a plug the other end into the USB port of the computer. The red LED should light up indicating the device is ready to use.

(2) Run your favorite IM or Voice over IP software from your PC and enable the talk feature.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I plugged one end into my USB port and the other in my microphone. The first couple of seconds the red light was on and then it went off. What did I do wrong?

First of all check whether when you plug in the microphone to USB port the hardware is detected.
If so then see whether you have unmuted the microphone in your sound setting.
Also run voice setup in your IM's.

You get to see that on your right hand side bottom corner. On the taskbar.

In vista and XP whenever you plug in a new device you get alert on the same.

Tell me what does it say when you plug in the device?

Hi
Regarding with this problem it is a software problem. When you brought a laptop it is not ready to use you need to install the motherboard driver. Get the motherboard CD installer in your package box and install. So that the camera and microphone will working properly.

I cant connect to sound system

Normal 0 After you install Skype and have it operational with your ID. Go to "TOOLS", click on "OPTIONS," Then go to "Audio Settings" and click on it. Make sure both the Microphone and Speaker's are correctly chosen. Then "make a free test call." Wait till the voice tells you to record. Then when finished talking wait for the test persons voice to insure your audio transmission is working. Then go back to options and test your video settings. Click on Video Settings and proceed to set up you video camera. Also, you can visit this site for additional information to setup video.

Built in microphone

Well there is no nice On/off switch but if you want to tell windows which microphone to use open the control panel and open ?Sounds and Audio Devices?. Open the Voice tab and at the bottom of that box you should see a section labeled Voice recording. If you have another microphone installed you should be able to use the pull down menu to select it. If you just want to prevent the internal microphone from picking up anything click on the Volume button and turn down the mic sensitivity by moving the slider bar to the bottom. Hope this helps.
