You are going to have to refill the cartidges you have, They no longer manufacture them. Here is a link I found for you for the best deal on the cheap tool and Ink that you will need.

http://www.ink-refills-ink.com/printer/Lexmark+Z-2300+Ink/16264/?src=gpsearch&gpprod=Lexmark+Z-2300&gptype=bulk

Also, Before you refill your cartidges I suggest you clean the print nozzles with automotive drygas on a clean piece of lint free cloth. Soak the cloth with the alcohol and hold it on the nozzles for at least 1 minute. After you fill the cartridges run the clean printhead function as soon as you put them back in.
Never rub the nozzles, this will kill them. Follow these instructions and they will last almost indefinately.
If you need further assistance feel free to contact me and I will call you For any of your computer tech needs for free. I'm retired at 42 and I do this as one of my favorite hobbies.
Ps. Don't forget to vote Fixya for me when you get this printer all filled up. Another thing, the more ink you buy the better the deal you get. Way cheaper than buying new cartridges.

Hope this helps you,
George

were they 'refilled' cartridges ? Lexmarks are sensitive to that...they have a chip in their tanks that you have to change/reset....you can't just refill them with ink.

My lexmark x3470 wont recognise compatible ink Cartridges any know of a way round this

If the ink cartridges you purchased are not Lexmark - that could be the problem. I used to have a Lexmark printer and I did the same thing - I purchased ink cartridges that were compatible but not Lexmark brand. Everything seemed fine until I tried to print and then I would get the same error sign and low ink message and it would not print. I kept thinking I was doing something else wrong and tried everything. In the end I broke down and got ink cartridges from Lexmark and that solved the problem. Now I have a Brother printer and I never buy anything other than Brother ink cartridges because I'm always afraid of that same thing happening again. I wish I knew which printers WOULD accept those non name brand ink cartridges, but thus far I do not know of any printers that do. Hope this helps you.

Lexmark z2300 keeps printing blank sheets

Try to re-seat the cartridges in the printer. Open the printer cover > remove the cartridges > close the printer cover > re-brick you printer by pulling out the power supply - black box behind the printer where the power cord is plugged in, and re-plug after 10 seconds. When the printer turns on, reinsert the cartridges and close the cover. Try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

If that doesn't help, the problem could be due to a clogged print cartridge nozzle. Please follow the steps below to fix print quality issues with your model:

  1. On your computer, go to Start menu.
  2. Go to Programs.
  3. Go to Lexmark 2600 Series folder.
  4. Select Lexmark Solution Center.

From the Maintenance tab, select Clean to fix horizontal streaks. Your printer will then print a page forcing ink through to clean the print cartridge nozzles.

I just added a new black ink cartridge to my Lexmark z2300 and it will not recognize it. I had a problem the last time I changed the color cartridge, tried calling Lexmark with no help, and finally...

To rectify this error with your printer, first of all, you need to snap the cartridge in and out a few times. If this doesn't work, you need to remove the printer cartridge from the printer and then clean off the foil contacts. You need to be careful while doing this and do not wipe the nozzles from where the ink comes out. Insert the cartridge and switch on the printer. Now your problem might be fixed. If this does not work, it is better to inform the manufacturer or contact online technical support experts.

How do i get my ink carchrage out

Perhaps the Lexmark Z2300 User's Guide will be able to help you on that. Just click on this link: http://www.lexmark.com/publications/pdfs/2007/z2300/english/lxdpuser.pdf. Scroll to Maintaining the Printer, Page 28-29, for the instructions on how to remove or replace the cartridges. In some cases, the ink cartridge carrier won't position itself in the middle even when the printer is on and the cover is open. Just unplug the printer from the power source. With the cover open, hold the white tape in the middle inside the printer. The other end of it is connected to the carrier. Gently slide the carrier to the center. Load the cartridges. Close the cover. Plug the printer back to power source. Hope this helps. If you need more assistance, leave a comment and I'll get back to it. Thanks.
