DVD drive not running specific DVDs

MY DVD drive, on a Vista Home premium OS is HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GSA-H55N as shown in device manager while it is HCL brand DVD drive. it is curently region locekd and I am unable to find the firmware for it. Is there a specific software I can use so that my number of region changes does not go down on vista for this kind of a drive?
