Hold one of the side buttons on and turn the radio on. This will put you in a menu mode. use either the ptt button or a control button on the front to scroll up or down either of the 2 menus once you find the vox selection. using one of the other buttons to turn it on or off

Hi.. My problem is that the unit is only in TX, press any botton only TX. How do I for the solution?

  • A few things to check.
If you are using an audio device, you must have the radio turned off when plugging/unplugging any audio device.
  • Check to be certain you do not have a VOX (voice activated) feature turned on.
Best regards.

Vox

In order to use VOX on your radio you will need a VOX capable accessory OR you can use iVOX which allows you to use talk hands free without an accessory. The instruction for both these features can be found on page 22 in the user guide.
You will need to fill in the "dot" with a "." because Fixya is not allowing insertion of links currently: giantintl dot com/ContentManage-new/manuals/Moto/T65xx.pdf
Keep in mind when using VOX the radio will open up its transmitter with any noise, not just exclusively voices. So if you are in a high noise environment you will not be able to use VOX or iVOX.
Best regards.

Motorola T5725 - Earpiece with mic wont work

A few things you might check:
1) Be certain the radio is turned off when plugging in any audio device.
2) Be certain the device is plugged in all the way. You should feel it seat, or click into place.
3) Use a device designed for your model radio. Aftermarket accessories don't always have the functionality of the OEM device.
4) Be certain you have special features such as VOX turned off on your radio.

Hope one of these helps.
Best regards.

Can you make a baby monitor out of the Motorola 250 model

hello yes you can use these as baby monitors .set one with vox on turn its volume down completly set the channel you require ,secondly the receiver radio set to same channel and that is it though i should state that these radios transmit on pmr band 446 mhz which is widely in use by many people nationwide so they can also listen in to whats been transmitted from your home not very private im afraid !! I would suggest you purchase a wired system hence more privacy and peace of mind hope this helps you

Hi I have the T5622 talkabout with a PTT headset. I can transmit OK but I am not receiving anything other than a ''click'' when the other person transmits. I have tested the headset and I am able to recive...

Here a few thoughts which come to mind.
1. You do not mention whether the radios communicate with the headset no on the radio. I will at this point, assume they do.
2. Be certain to have the radio SHUT OFF when plugging in the audio device.
3. Check your VOX settings. It could be your radio is going into VOX mode.
4. Only use the PTT button on the headset. Do not press the PTT on the radio at any time while using the headset.
5. Check that you have CALL TONES shut off.
6. Lastly, if nothing else works, go back to a basic mode, and set both radios where there are no special features turned on. ie turn off CODE, Qt Filter, VOX, Call Tones, etc.

Motorola Talkabout T5700 and Audiovox GMRS 1582CH headphones

Hi,

Unfortunately yes. More often than not the pin/wiring arrangements are different, if not the physical sizes and dimensions, not to mention electrical characteristics such as impedance, common ground, ptt and VOX feature. If it is just an earpiece or headphones that is required, then any such accessory would do and it would be a matter of replacing the plug and/or rewiring the connection points.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Motorola 250 manual

Hi,

I was made to understand that the 250 together with 270SLK, 280 & 289SLK all came out sometime last quarter of 1998. To my knowledge, all share the same basic features. The only difference is that the high end models feature built-in VOX, available colors, power/battery condition indicators, some other frills.

Like you, I couldn’t find any manual for a 250 but the user’s manual for a Motorola Talkabout T-289 is available here. Since most features are presumably the same, you can probably try winging it from the 289.

Here and here are nice articles about the 250.

Hope that this be of some help. Pls post back if this is of any use to you or should you need further information.

Good luck and kind regards.
