Volume button keeps on decreasing volume...

once i left my pda2k in the car, the weather was a bit hot and humid, once i switched it on the volume decreases continuously as if im holding the button on the side down also i cant switch it off unless i stop this by keeping on holding the button up and down, once it stop then i switch it off.
its annoying i cant do anything regarding programmes and games also during any call.

any idea..
