SOURCE: Viewsonic PJ513DB DLP Projector projects upside down

Double check which menu item you are expecting to find the orientation. It might even be under 'image', 'settings', or its own button not in the menu, Jon.

SOURCE: my proxima dp6155 projector after any time looks

reset the settings to factory default. there may be a resolution issue. make sure it matches the source. if the line is straight and goes right along the pixel line, you may have an lcd issue. if it's blurred, it could be a bad polarizer.

It appears our remote has never worked correctly. is there a special set up to make it work?

the ir lenses may be blocked with dust. blow out the projector with canned air. if you need to, remove the top case and clean off the sensors yourself. and change the batteries in the remote.
