Question about HP Officejet 6310 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Cartridge erro My printer keeps telling me that the cartridge on the left needs to be replaced. I put a 2nd new cartridge in and it still says the same. When I check the ink levels, it registers empty when it's not. Help!

Hi,

try to clean the printer contacts of the left.before you do that unplug the powercable first.used a cotton swab to clean the copper contact of the printer..after cleaning insert the ink cartridge..if the error is still occuring this is now an issue of the printer..the printer needs to be replaced/serviced...

Replace both cartridges(new one not refilled), check.. if error persistsOpen top cover:
> Check trailing cable, any damage/continuity failed replace it> Replace carriage assm.> Replace formatter.

Maybe the contacts where the cartridge sits are dirty. What you can do is remove both cartridges and turn the printer off, pulling the power cable out so that the cartridge holder remain in the change position and you can see it. Then clean the gold contacts with a piece of cotton fabric soaked with medical alcohol. Left the printer turned off for 10-15 minutes so that the contacts become dry. Then turn it on and reinstall the cartridges. This might help.

the erros code E-5 means that you need to replace your cartridge, look at the led light you will find them blinking for the color and black cartridge. if you install two new cartridge the message disappear.

Eror 1203 at dell printer? what is this?


I found if you cover a copper contact on the color cartridge the erroe clears and the cartridge works. looking from the contact side for the color cartridhe 2nd row contact 2 from the left. I found if I use an ohm meter from 2nd to 3rd contact I measure 119 ohms. I believe that is a shorted cartridge. If you bought it New I would get it replaced. I use a SMALL square piece of Scotch tape.

My printer keeps saying left cartridge incorrect. I know how to put the cartridges in, I've had this printer for 4 years.


The connector for that cartridge isn't working properly - if you're lucky all you will need is a new cartridge; if you're unlucky a new All-in-one.

Replaced black ink cartridge and printer keeps asking to replace


The message that persists in saying to "replace black cartridge" could be due to a defective cartridge chip. The chip maintains counts and tells the printer when a new cartridge is installed. If you cartridge is remanufactured, they may have neglected to install a new chip.

Regarding the new fuser not working, I'll have to get back to you on that.

Cartridge erro


HP's troubleshooting guide for this error is available here and has several causes for the cartridge light blinking, including an open door, a cartridge not properly seated, tape left on the cartridge or a defective cartridge. See the guide for troubleshooting steps.

If troubleshooting indicates the cartridge is defective try cleaning the cartridge contacts as shown here. (This is for a different series of cartridge but the same principle in cleaning applies).

Ink Cartridge Error


on your cartridges there is a chip that detects if the ink is low. The chip on your yellow cartridge is bad. You should return the cartridge for a new one(if you still have your receipt) or visit a Cartridge World in your area and they can put a new chip on for you
