Hi,

There should be a menu button somewhere on the camera...on my camera it is a round button, which says "MENU/ OK", inside of another circle which has the buttons for flash, mcro, self-timer, and non-shake.
If you find this button (or it could be on a dial), click it, and look for "settings" or "set-up".
most cameras should be similar in this manner. For instance, mine goes:
1) i hit the MENU.
2) scroll all the way down the list of options until i see SET-UP
3) hit set up, and scroll through 3 sub-menus.
4) at the end of the 4th sub-menu i see RESET and click it.

Hope it helps. Most cameras should be able to be reset manually. Good luck..Thank you!!..Hope this helps you!!..please reply back to say how things turned on or for further assistance..Regards!!..

This is most likely caused by the gears opening the lens are dirty, it is jamming and not telescoping all the way. Try smacking it around a bit, it may dislodge any dirt. If that doesn't work, easiest solution would be get a can of compressed air and blow it out thoroughly. If that doesn't work here are some comprehensive instructions for disassembling and cleaning the problematic areas.

This may have a problem in the auto adjust column. it is normal for itself to correct itself, but not to turn off and not be corrected. my advice is to turn the camera on, reset it, turn it off wait 5 minutes then retry again, this should help. if this does not work. please take it back or get it fixed. hope this works. good luck. bye.

this seems like a bad power

    so try some new batteries.
but if that does not solve the problem you will have to take it to some service center.

there is nothing much we can do in this unit unless we are highly experienced in camera repairs.

    thank you

    good luck

dont forget to accept the solution.

Sony Cybershot DSC-W150,screen reads turn power on and off again

You may not believe this and I hope you haven't spent a lot of money fixing your problem. I read that some people had a different error message coming up on their Sony Cybershot DSC-W150's and in order to fix it, they literally banged the lens against their knee while the lens was out and it re-focused and the error message disappeared. I tried this while my camera was doing exactly what you described above AND IT WORKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After 2 or 3 firm blows, my LCD screen came up and focused. I can't believe it myself, but I was just desperate enough to try it and VOILA!
Good luck!!

Sony Cybershot Lens Stuck inside!!!

I have the exact same problem with my Cyber-shot; the lens is stuck inside. After trying everything to loosen it (like wedging a razor knife between the sections, even dropping it or banging it against a book, etc) non of which I recommend, I finally got it open by PUSHING on the black telescoping section surrounding the lens itself. For some reason, this worked!

Turn the power on and off again

I fixed this issue with my Sony Cybershot by gently (carefully) hitting the camera 3 times against a carpeted bench with the lens retracted and the camera turned off. It seems the lens gears were stuck. Now the camera works fine again.
