Question about Sylvania 6842-PEM 42 in. EDTV-Ready Plasma Television
Hi Zexxal - I see that several people are having trouble with a blown capacitor in this particular TV - I have the same problem. I replaced the blown capacitor with a replacement from RadioShack (the one from the link you posted), and the TV worked fine for about 10 seconds, then the part blew out. This happened twice. I was wondering if you had any idea about what could be causing to fail; perhaps you know of another part that needs to be replaced also? Any advice would be great - thanks a lot.
Where on the board is this capacitor located?

If you are certain that the capacitor is OK, there could be a different problem on the main power board or even on the sub-power board. The sub-power board should have output voltages even if the main power board is defective.
