Hey there, I used pure silicone spray. You can find them in most DIY/electronic stores.

I think Maplins might sell it.

On power up, lens assy does not fully extend

I'm surprised the sprays you've put into your lens assembly haven't seeped all over your lens elements yet...when that happens, maybe you will have learned a valuable lesson.

Digital camera zoom error

I had this problem with my Fujifilm E900 under warranty, and Fuji replaced the zoom mechanism. Nine months later, this past weekend, the same problem occurred. I appear to have solved it by gently but persistently wiggling the lens into a fully zoomed-out position, applying silicone spray to the lens barrel such that some of it dripped down into the space between the lens and the camera body and between the two parts of the lens barrel, and then repeatedly turning the camera on and off, wiggling the lens barrel, until it began to move freely again. Then I zoomed in and out until the silicone spray appeared to be dry. So far, I've tried zooming it in and out about 50 times in a row, with no problems.

The clue, to me, that this might work is that the spray initially seeme to make the problem worse. That meant it was getting to the gear mechanism. Once the solvent part of the spray dried, it wall worked smoothly.

Dropped polariod t1031 in sand. Lens is stuck.

to try and fix this(i have done it before) , pull it out when it is on , you have nothing to lose and manually assist it to open, try to get contamination out. replacing lense is probably not worth the cost

Kodak camera dropped lens cockeyed stuck open

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ...

Here's some things that you can do to try to correct it. They only seem to work for less than 50% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try:

The following blog outlines some repair options for a lens error. They won't work for all cases, but they're worth a try if the camera's no longer under warranty:
