Our maytag window air conditioner (12,000 BTU; model#M^Y12FB-J
changes the temperature on its own. And it always goes up in temperature as high as 88 degrees and of course then it isn't cooling at all. I checked to see if frost or ice had collected on the copper tubing but it hasn't. I unplugged it for 1 hour to see if it would reset but that didn't help. It is about 2 years old. When it first happened, it seemed that if I used the remote it would stay at the right temp., but now it doesn't matter. It's hot and humid in my house - help!

I get a EE code on the display. What is it?

Hello
EE is a high pressure error code. The unit may be to small for the room deppending on what temp it is outside. If its over 95.f The a/c is probably overworked.

One way to solve this would be to cool down the coils outside.Spray water lightly on the outside of the unit too cool it down which will bring the pressure down also.

The Maytag a/c unit model #M6Q10F2A has been working fine until this morning. The display reads "EE" and the a/c does not work. Unplugging the unit does not help.

My air conditioner turned itself off and now the display reads EE we have unplugged it it runs for a little while then shuts itself off again

Remove the unit from the window, and dissassemble and use a water hose and clean the inside of the unit, remove all debris, this is most likely the problem.

Wont turn on. EE on display

It's probably the control board inside the control panel. I had the same problem and it moisture shorted out the board. You can order a new one from Sears Parts for about $45

EE in the display window

Hi, I have been trying to get in touch with a service rep to find out but unable to get one. They wanted proof that I had purchased a unit. Its possible that your receptacle is not polarized right. By that I mean the two wires may need switched on the receptacle or maybe it doesn't have a good ground. You may want to try temporarily using an extension cord and try another plug. Most things will run good on receptacles wired wrong but with a computerized AC it may be seeing a fault. If you still need help I think the best way to find out would be for you too contact the store that you bought the unit from and make it their responsibility to find out what the EE stands for. If they cant, get the unit replaced and try again. If you do get hold of a service tech # from Maytag, please send it to me at kstfas@yahoo.com Hope this helps. kstfas

EE IN TEMP DISPLAY

I just called a maytag repair store, and they just had one in the shop, it sounds like the control panel has died, and will need to be replaced. They cost around 60 dollars, + install fee.
