2001 Pathfinder LE - Fan made a chirping noise about three days ago on high, then worked fine low-high either setting it Manually or via the Auto mode, that is until today. Now neither the automatic setting or manual setting makes a difference in the fan speed. All the "visual" indications of fan speed seem to work on the panel but the the fan runs extremely slow if at all. This is the opposite of most problems like this where the fan speed is stuck on high. Could it still be the fan control amplifier even though mine is stuck on low and not high?

Replace the turn signal switch. All the exterior lights run threw it except the high brake light. There is a small plastic clip/switch in it that controls high and low setting. Because of heat it starts to melt and quits working.
blower is not running full speed? on high?
the blower has this resistor block on many cars,
that fail, easy. (burn up) but not ever on high. (bypassed then)
a big clue that. no?
is the blower slow or just dampers closed and cant feel it.
surly you know the sound of your blower on high, sound !
air flow is a whole other more complex matter.
also is battery rested voltage at 12.6v? if not you have discharged battery making fan weak ( power = volts times current. so....)
Have you changed the bulbs lately......
Turn on with your fan flat out and rear demister on, see if that makes a difference.
Have you got the correct fuses in?
Its the Blower Resistor....If it was the switch, it probably wouldn't work at all....But the Resistor will give you those symptoms, of working on high med or low
I had the same problem in my Pathfinder a couple months ago. It's most likely your fan clutch. I had mine replaced, and the noise went away. And it seems that it is the cold weather causes this.
If fuses are good then you need to unplug the blower motor connector and check to see if you have power going to it. From the previous noises you were hearing it sounds like the blower motor has failed.
