H D Audio Driver fails to install

I am running Windows XP Prof SP2. On restoration from a crash and reinstalling OS, Installation of Realtek High Definition Audio driver fails. I did install the hotfix kb888111 advised by Microsoft Help and support & else. Still I am unable to install the said drivers. Reinstallation of the win XP Prof even does not help. The motherboad installed is Intel945 chipset. No such errors found with wnidows 2000 prof and sound plays fine with this OS (HD Audio). Please suggest a rescue tip.

Have you checked to see if the driver is already installed, and the volume is just turned down? (Start> programs > accessories > entertainment > volume control) If so, try going into Device Manager (right click My Computer > properties > hardware > device manager) See if the sound card is showing up there as a yellow question mark or other error icon, it will stand right out. If it's there, right click, and uninstall it. Now (still in device manager) press the button that looks like a computer screen with a magnifying glass on it, that will scan for hardware changes and pick up the sound card, which windows includes the driver for automatically. If this still doesn't work, try downloading from realtek here, and installing that. Hope this helps.

Audio driver setup for windows xp sp2

The standard audio driver for the sound card is already part of the OS. You don't have to install it. When the OS is installed the driver is installed. If you have un-installed the driver then you can reinstall it again from your windows xp cd.
For any other sound hardware like usb or bluetooh sound the driver comes with the product itself.

How to solve ploblem it's error number 0xe0000227 realtek

here goes amed

There is really only 1 way to install the Realtek HD Audio drivers properly. No matter what all other forums say. Service Pack 3 is the main culprit as the drivers see that its above SP2 and dont install. I personally face this situation and was really distressed because it looked like either i will have to reinstall Windows Xp or have my new supercool and super monster computer without sound. Imagine having a monster PC with a motherboard with HD Audio and your driver doesnt install.
Both scenarios were something which i would never have approved of. Anyway so i Googled. I got 10s of solutions but most didnt work. Only 1 worked and i will put it here hoping that Google dear will catch it and people who face this problem installing the Realtek HD Audio 0xE000027.
  1. First Step is to make sure all instances Realtek Audio and its associative softwares are uninstalled from add remove programs and device manager. This includes Intel High Definition audio.
  2. On your PC change the CSDVersion registry key to Windows XP SP2:
    HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Windows\CSDVersion value=200
This problem arises as the patch thinks that SP3 includes a better version of the patch itself and hence doesn’t install itself.
3. Download the latest drivers from the Intel website, navigate to the KB888111 patch.
4. But before installing the patch, goto your device manager and disable the UAA. Now uninstall the UAA.
5. Install your patch now.
6. Install the Realtek drivers now and things should work.
7. Change the SP version to 300 again.
If it didnt work, try once again. Hopefully Error 0xE000027 is fixed now.

I install xp server pack 3 all done bt realtek audio driver

probably it is a issue with the driver itself ..and the system restarts as protection ...try to download the driver again and see whats happens..anyway ...remove any previous installations ..and even if it is not too much reinstall the xp again ...I also encounter some issues with the audio settings and drivers and the wasn't explainable...and the only fix was to reinstall ...I got to the conclusion that the xp messed something up durring the installation ...
by the way ..if you decide to do that ..remove any devices and stuff when you are installing ...let in plugs just the keyboard , mouse ..,power cord and the monitor..
another thing that might cause the issue is the sp3 itself ...it may not see the driver as compatible for some reasons... in this case try to install a xp sp2 seen genuine ..and it will accept the drivers like a charm and it will update itself in a day or two ....to xp sp3...
here is a link to an image with sp2 genuine ...(download with u torrent ...burn with nero ..and install )

Impossible to install driver for Realtek High Definition 1.81

Hi there,
Since after installing the Service Pack your drivers are update. Now you can not use the previous one.

Since after many trial, your driver is now got corrupt. I will suggest you to Roll Back the System from the Service pack 3 to Service Pack 2. And then go for it.

Otherwise use the Repair window method and then reinstall the original drivers.

Let me know the issue after this.

Regards
Ellin
