EPoX EP-8RDA+ Pro problem with memory

I have two pqi 512mb DDR400 CL2.5 memory modules but when I put them in dualchanell on full 400mhz system is unstable. I have run memtest and it shows lots of erors. only solutions that works is 333mhz CL3 dual chanel or 400 mhz cl3 single chanel. any other way there are erors on the memtest. My qustion is is it posable to have al 3 slots filed and sistem to run in single chanel. I want to add one more pqi512 but i want it to work on 400mhz. O I forgat to tell, i have AthlonXP 2500 barton ovorking on default 11x166. I wanted to oc but not until i solve this

    It is the third "Duall Chanell only" slot that is "faulty". But friend
    of mine have the same problem with Abit NF7 and he solved that by bumping FSB to 200 mhz(same procesor as mine). I think that third slot is designed to go 1:1 with FSB on all nForce2 400/ultra mbs. I rememer that my old MSI K7N2
    had the same "bug". Thanks for trying.

First try setting your memory voltage in the motherboard bios to 2.5volts if you haven't already and you might try different timings in the bios also for example 3-3-3-8. If that doesn't work try taking out one of the modules and testing them each by themselves in the memory slots of your motherboard. It may take awhile, but you'll rule out the memory slots causing the problem. One of the memory sticks could be faulty. Hope this helps.

Dell Optiplex 170L will not accept full RAM of 2Gb (2x1gb) Accepts each separately, but not both. 1gb + 512mb is ok any suggestions

Are the 1Gb modules identical? If not they will not work.

Are they both;
1GB Module 128x64-400MHz DDR400 PC3200, 184p DIMM, 2.5v, Sync, CL=3.0
Hope that helps.
