Replaced cmos battery monitor stays in sleep mode

Try pressing F2 or F11 during boot up and go in to the bios. You should be able to adjust the power settings in there. If that doesn't work, use the control panel from within Windows, go to 'display settings' and change the monitor sleep settings there.

My pc does not give display ? Why

Time Required: Testing a monitor could take from a few minutes to much longer depending on the cause of the problem Here's How:
  1. Check to make sure your monitor is on! Some monitors have more than one power button or switch - check to make sure they're all switched on.
  2. Check for disconnected monitor power cable connections. Your monitor might be working fine and your only problem may be a loose or unplugged monitor power cable. Note: A disconnected monitor power cable could be the cause of your problem if your monitor's power light is completely off.
  3. Check for disconnected monitor data cable connections. Again, your monitor might be turning on without a problem but no information can get to it because the cable that connects your monitor to your computer is disconnected or loose.
Note: A disconnected monitor data cable could be the cause of your problem if your monitor's power light is on but is amber or yellow instead of green.
  4. Turn the monitor's brightness and contrast settings completely up. Your monitor might be showing information but you just can't see it because these display settings are too dark.
Note: Most monitors today have a single onscreen interface for all settings, including brightness and contrast. If it turns out that your monitor isn't working at all then you'll likely not have access to this interface. An older monitor might have manual knobs for adjusting these settings.
  5. Test that your computer is working correctly by connecting a different monitor that you are certain is working properly to your PC. Your monitor may be working fine but your computer might not be sending information to it.
    • If the new monitor you connected does not show anything either, proceed to Step 6.
    • If the new monitor you connected does show information from your computer, proceed to Step 7.
Important: When testing with the new monitor, make sure you use the data cable that came with it and not the one from your original monitor.
  6. Determine why your computer isn't sending information to your monitor. Since neither monitor works, you now know that the computer is not sending information to the monitor. In other words, you've proven that your computer is the reason that nothing shows up on your monitor.
Chances are your original monitor is working fine.
  7. Test your original monitor with a monitor data cable that you know is working. It's possible that the monitor itself is working properly but it can't receive information from the computer because the cable that connects the monitor to the PC is no longer working.
Note: If possible, test using the data cable from the monitor that you successfully tested with in Step 5. If not, purchase a replacement monitor data cable to test with.
Note: The data cable on some older monitors are permanently connected to the monitor and are not replaceable. In these cases, you'll have to skip this step and proceed to Step 8.
  8. Replace the monitor.
WARNING: A computer monitor is not a user serviceable device. In other words - do not open the monitor and attempt to repair it yourself. If you would rather have your dead monitor serviced instead of replaced then please let a professional do it.

Why does my monitor stay off after standby? I have a Compaq Presario SR1720NX with a Compaq FS7600 monitor, and Radeon Xpress 200. When I try to take my computer off of standby the monitor stays off even...

yes this means that the monitor works ..and the issue is from another place ...probably it is bugged or something ...just right click on the desktop ..properties..than screen saver ..than you have the power adjusting in the bottom ...set all those for never turn off...and this way you will avoid getting to the stand by ...and avoid the problem until you will make up your mind to reinstall...anyway the problems is that it is probably set to close the hdd after a time and it has trouble betting back on .....what you are hearing is probably the coolers working and not the hdd..

Monitor goes into Sleep Mode immediatly upon turning on computer

Ok. I think "sleep mode" means that your monitor might not have a tight connection. Tighten all connections. Also, push the power button on your tower. When you gegt back, go to screensaver- power settings- and from there you can adjust.

Gateway GT5058 Geforce 6100 lost red

yes.. Check to make sure your wires are in good working order, check for loose pins, and make sure there aren't any kinks / tears / breaks in the shielding for the monitor cable.

Also, make sure you have the latest drivers for your graphics card, and that someone hasn't tampered with any color settings on the monitor / graphics setting software (nVidia allows me to adjust color for each individual color... i.e. red, green, blue.. )

Also, i have seen times where KVM's have caused the color to be off. even after removing the monitor from the KVM and testing a new monitor on the KVM, after detaching the KVM, and allowing it to reset (1 minute no power) then reconnecting it with all 4 PC's turned off, the issue went away.

To Recap:
1) Make sure monitor settings are at factory default
2) test the monitor on another PC, if good step 3
3) test different monitor on affected PC, if good, step 4
4) be sure your software settings work for your monitor, and all cables are secure, and free of defects such as kinks, broken shielding, broken wires within the shielding, missing / bent / broken / loose coonector pins.

If all abouve test show the monitor is good on one PC, and bad on another, replace your graphics card to see if this solves the problem, if so, your card may be faulty

Monitor fails to adjust-narrow in the middle

You have to use the OSD (onscreen display) to adjust the vertical height or the horizontal width.
If you have an auto button, try letting it readjust your monitor to the default setting. If this doesn't work, find the geometry setting and adjust the hoizontal or vertical manually to correct the "narrowness".
If this doesn't help, please reply with your monitor make and model number and we'll see if we can sort it out...

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

My KOGI L7VH 19 in. monitor stays black. The green light no longer turns on. Any suggestions?

Could the power cable be loose at the back/bottom of the monitor? I'm assuming that you've checked the connection at the wall or surge supressor. And some monitor power cables have a converter "brick" in the middle of the cable - and the cable from the wall may be detachable from the brick. If your monitor power cable is like this, check the connection on the "brick" as well.
