Hello Eldon, don't worry this is a safety devise that is built in to your unit and many others. It gives your screen longer life. GOOD LUCK.

Yes, very likely to bad dying caps, and if you keep using it, it will cause more damages.
As you can see the failed SAMSUNG monitors and TV albums here:
Failed TV and Monitors: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm

If you are going to DIY and already try the monitor with another PC, and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed SAMSUNG monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Or www.digikey.com just make sure to use caps with low ESR, 105c, high ripple current, long life rating such as PANASONIC FM or FC series.
Please leave rating if it helps.

How to prevent my computer to shut down automatically?

Control panel, power settings, set the times you desire in there and you can have it stay on longer or shorter, shut the monitor and drive or just shut the whole thin is as many minuter or hours a s you like, The longer it stays on, of course the shorter the battery life

When the screen is not used for a little while it goes in the sleep mode and I have to turn it off and back on. Is this normal

Normally a monitor will come out of sleep mode merely by moving the mouse or hitting a key on the keyboard. It all has to do with your power settings. If in Windows, click on START/ControlPanel/Power Your Power settings determine how long your monitor stays on as well as hard drive disks when computer is idle. Just select a longer period of time or "Never" for monitor shut off settings.

Camera goes to sleep too quickly...is there a way to adjust?

To save battery power, the camera automatically goes into sleep mode and the monitor turns off if there is no operation after 3 minutes when the camera is turned on (when the lens cover is open and the monitor is on). No picture is taken even if the shutter button is fully pressed in this mode. Operate the zoom button or other buttons to restore the camera from sleep mode before taking a picture. If the camera is left on for 15 minutes, it automatically turns off (the lens cover closes and the monitor turns off). Press POWER to turn the camera on.

Monitor "sleeps"

There are two places where the sleep time can be affected, both of which are accessed through the Control Panel that is normally an item on the Start menu.
Check the Display folder first and look for Screen Saver. This can be turned off completely or set to longer delays. The second, is the Power Options provided more for laptop users to conserve battery life but also can control the shutdown of your monitor.  Power Options aren't too important to desktop machines but the options are still listed.
