This transmission shifted smooth and strong through all gears until today when it stopped all of ... Any idea on where we should start tackling this issue? .... Also, make sure that the pressure tester is not leaking or you will run the tranny dry(use ...
The weld on the manual lever is known to break loose. First, with the wheels off the ground, with the lever in the park position, does the drive shaft lock in park? If yes or no sometimes, drop the trans pan. I bet the nut on the lever camd loose.
I cannot understand why u would ever need 4L but anyway try this: after not working once move your vehicle about 6 inches backwards then try again. if no results move veh fwd about 6 inches and try again. if this doesnt word, im lost. good luck. ps: dont engage emerg brake
Try to check the trans mission gears of your 1995 jeep grand cherokee. The shift fork and the clutch sleeve of the trans mission is locking to the other gears .And then also check the starter motor and its solenoid.if the starter motor solenoid is destroyed or worn out replace .
If the trans. hasn't been serviced every 30,000 miles and it has over 100,000 miles on it, it's problem is normal wear and tear. The only way to fix it right to rebuild it. You can add Lucas trans. additive to it. It worked miracles in my ford truck. Use two bottles. It will free up the valves and seals to buy you some time.
i have 2006 f250 4x4 will not engage unless i lock in hubs. once hubs locked in i can engage 4x4 by using electronic selector. why will it not engage when hubs are in auto and electronic selector is on 4high
Sounds like the shift kit is warn out in the transmission. The overdrive line may not be able to provide enough hydrolic pressure to engage the gears to move the truck. When you switch to regualr drive, that line is able to build the hydrolic pressure to engage the gears. At a certian speed (for the transmission, certian hydrolic pressure) there is enough pressure to engage the gears in overdrive, but go below that, and you have to start in drive again. If this is the case, there is no easy fix for that and I recomend taking it to a transmission shop to have your shift kit examined. Opening up an automatic transmission requires specalized tools, clean shop enviroment, and knowlage more then the average back yard machanic has.
