Lines accross the screen - Sony DCR-HC38 Mini DV Digital Camcorder

Vertical lines running down the screen is indicative of a data failure to the screen itself, which means either the screen is starting to fail or the data being transmitted through the data cable is being interferred with. Put a hand on either side of the monitor and give the monitor a light twist....does the line disappear? or do more lines appear...in either case, there is a problem where the data cable attaches to the lcd panel itself. You can try to change out cables, if that doesn't correct it, then the panel may have to be replaced. If you have the option of trying the computer on another monitor that would be the first step in seeing where the problem lies.

The blob is a phisically damaged part of the LCD screen. Unfixable, the screen must be replaced and it will be expensive.

Do you have speakers next to your tv sometimes the line on your tv will be from your sound to close to your tv also the red line could mean your tv tube is going out there about 300 to replace but i ould check frist on your sound are something close to you tv that is maken the red line in the middle of your tv

Bad or loose wire. does this happen only with tv or with dvd and video game too.. check too see if it is every unit then problem is either tv itself or wire connection

remove the ground from the plug

if it is a thin black line then it is probably a line of pixels out. if this is the case, the whole screen will have to be replaced and that can get pricey. i would suggest that you get it checked out by a tv tech and get an estimate, but it'll probably be cheaper to just get a new one

We have aKDF-E42A10 for a bout 2 yearsnow and we now have 13 horizonal lines across the screen, they look like small square dotted lines across the entire screen from top to bottom. It be gan acouple of months ago as 2 of these lines that seemed to move up the screen. I called technical support and he made it sound like he never heard of the problem. I am very upset with sony right now. Anybody know how to fix the problem?ricedog

lcd or plasma.
are the lines solid or blurred. do they have sharp edges.
You may have a memory problem with the display which can only be repaired by factory trained technicians, or a brave soul willing to find parts on ebay.
