Re-Boot - hit F8 till the Screen for Safe Mode comes up.

Let me know if you can see the screen in safe mode.

If you can change the resulution to 600x800 - and 16bit color.

Let me know if this helps, if not we can go on from there. Don't rate too soon till we have this solved.

If your laptop appears to boot up and the hard disk LED flashes, then the problem is probably a back light fault. This can be a faulty inverter or a faulty CCFL lamp. Please click on this link and follow my instructions to identify the fault and possible fix :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r3598095-faulty_laptop_lcd_screen

Reboot into safe mode, go to the control panel > device manager (in xp the device manager is in the system folder) scroll down to display adapters, try to roll back the driver....the driver may have updated last night and the new driver is not compatible. After to roll back the driver, reboot the machine and see if it updates to another driver that is stable.

Black Screen Dell 600 Laptop

Hi,
The display drivers maybe corrupt.

Boot the machine into safe mode. Right click on My Computer (XP) Computer (Vista) and select manage from the sub menu.
When the window pops up select Device Manager.
A device list will populate. When it has look down the list for Display Adapters. Click on the + icon next to Display Adapters to it expands. Right click on the display adapter and select uninstall.

Restart the computer and let it boot in normal mode.
If it boots in normal mode let it detect the Display and install the drivers for it.
I would be a good idea to update the display drivers via the Dell support website.

If it still won't display in normal mode please post back.

Good luck.

My Coby dvd7107 has sound but no vidio, if you

Do you get the welcome (Coby) screen when you first turn on?
If not then it may be the brightness or contrast needs turning up. Or even the backlight is burnt out, as basically it's a bulb behind the dislpay screen.

Vidio problem on tv

Well... It depends on how you have your VCR connected. If its Coxial [a fat black cable at the back which has only one connection] then tune it in the preset 0 or something. It it has 2 or 3 different couloured cables, then press TV/AV or TV/Video or something similar on the remote or TV face.
