If you replace just the fl231 it will blow again. You will need to replace the FL231,DL231 and CP230. You can get the parts at the following link with free instructions with pictures total cost is about 26.00. Its listed under the RCA repair kits as the ITC222 & ITC222A convergence option missing repair kit. Its available at www.tvrepairworld.com
no the fl231 fuse is only for model itc222 rca's . these older set unfortunately do not have that fuse convergence is contolled by a sepreated cuircit board. also these set have no stk ics that are common for most set that control convergence. it uses a series off transistors.
heres where they are located but you have to resolder the flyback and vertical IC also.
Look at the flyback ( with the Large red wire) Just to the right of the flyback you will see three small brown Fuses the cehter one is FL231 DL231 is just to the right of FL231 and Cl230 is just below and alittle to the right of DL231
the fl231 fuse is a small rectangular fuse tan or brown in color. located on the deflection board next too what is known as a flyback transformer. this is a large black componet with two wires coming from the top. one large red one. it looks sort of like a dristibitor of a car ... too the right there is three small rectagular parts these are fuses the one in the middle is the fuse
no the board that has the FL231 on is the ITC222 deflection board. The other board is above the chassis in a seperate frame that runs across the set the convergence power supply is the board on the left above the board where the fL231 is. Yes the ITC222 and ITC222A are the same chassis. As for the service manual that site should have the service manual under the thomson category as the ITC 222 chassis is actually a thomson chassis made for RCA.
yes, thats the replacement fuse for your set. However unless you have replaced the convergence power supply also chances are the fuse will blow again, as the power supply shorting is what causes the convergence to get out of alignment and it will then blow FL231 thereby removing the convergence option from the menu.
Instead of taking the board out, I just soldered two wires to the old fl231 fuse on the underside. Installed a fuse holder with a half amp fuse. And I re-soldered all of the flyback points. My tv is working like new. thanks for everyone's help.
