I just purchased a Philips PL2125C101 television set (manufactured in June 1993) from a hotel. I can't get a new Philips remote I purchased to get into the menus to add the channels I have (I am on cable). What can I do to remedy the situation? My sister also purchased one of these televisions and cannot get the channels added.

You could have several problems. 1) if it was a commercial set was there a pay system custom board in or attatched to the set to keep movies off the set is it removed? 2) if the commercial board was removed where was the original insert? My experience is hotels don't know what they need it for and throw out the spare parts that are useful when the site upgrades tvs. 3) if the commercial mode is set then it gives priority over to the vendor board. The green philips rd2573 is the installation remote needed to reset the tv to allow residential use. Its been around for years should cost about $45 if its not out of stock. And that's only the start of your problems....what model type is it does it have a tv tuner or is it a strict monitor....I only addressed the common issues. Bottom line 1-800-philips may be able to help

but in a word Yes it should work. Kinda expensive tho...a universal may be a cheaper alternative. Might need to try one out to make sure it functions enough for your purposes.

How do i get my panasonic th37pr9u out of hotel mode....i have tried a few things i found online but no remedy has worked.

Getting out of the hotel mode is very easy. Just go get the Panasonic remote and open your tv. Go near the tv and hold down the V/- button on the television itself. Then use the remote and press the AV button for 3 times. A hidden menu on the television screen will appear. Turn off the "Hotel Mode" from the menu and exit. Do not touch anything from the hidden menu except the hotel mode. Now you can use your tv in normal mode. The remote is required to access the hidden menu so be sure your remote is working and has working or full charged battery before doing the steps above

How do I take the keylock off my lcd cctv s76449 PAC-17x monitor so I can use the buttons on the monitor itself cause I have no idea where the remote is

Your TV is stuck in "Hotel Mode", you will need the remote and a code to unlock it. TVs have this feature to allow hotels to "close" buttons so people don't mess with the TV programming...

Stuck in hotel mode

You've to enter its Service Mode options to make it out of Hotel Mode. Visit the site named 'Electro-help' for more details. Click this link.
View it in 'Flip card' option, which can be selected from the drop down box menu by the [Sidebar] tag, at the top left corner of the display window. It will make search easy. Some times, the ads attached with each posts, both at the right and bottom, might help you to find the availability of spare parts. There are more than 850 posts to different brand TVs now.

Toshiba hotel mode

"Hotel mode" is usually an option for commercial TVs. In order to get rid of that, you might need "service remote control". Similar used in commercial "Philips" LCD panel sets. I do have the one. But it won't work with Toshiba. check help line and ask to obtain the one. It might cost a bit more, than consumer one, but? that might be your only option. consumer sets have "store" mode, but it defeats easy from regular setup menu. Do you have original remote for TV? Inspect it, if you do. It might be the service one, anyway. Those have "guest", "administrator", "service" modes.
Good luck,
Alex.

I am staying in a hotel for work and they have a LG 32lc50c-ua. I have been trying to use my PS3 on it via the HDMI connections. I have my Ps3 setup to work on all HD settings but when try to use it there...

Hello,
Thanks for using Fixya, We are here to help.
Ok, I worked for hotels, do know the ends and outs of how there operations work. they buy Tv's with special feature to control there users from improper use.
Most hotels have payed channels and this is how they make there money. They have a password lockout on there Tv's or may I say parental lock outs on the hdmi ports to keep clients from bringing in there own movies.
I know it might not make sense, the front desk does not have any control over these units its all done by the engineering department within the hotels system.
The solution would be if you can get a universal remote and program it for the tv to get into the menu you would have a step forward to get into the locked system. Most codes are like 9999 or 0000 as they want to make it easy for a tech to come in and do work on these if necessary.
I cannot guarantee the codes I gave will work, shoot i do not know what hotel you stayed at so it would be hard to trow out a guess on this. The other issue might be the resolution on the console set to high for this tv so I would set it to low at first then work your way up.
