Question about Tomtom One XL GPS Receiver

TomTom GPS I have a TomTom One XLS. Had it for about 6mths. Worked fine but now everynow and then the screens keeps flipping or looping. I have tried the factory reset and also the hard reset but nothing seems to work. I have also downloaded the flash file but doesn't work. Any suggestions please Thanks

    If the GPS can be fixed by me doing something I would rather go that route then having to send it back. I will eventually if I cannot fix it.I have contacted TomTom customer service who advised I should download the latest application which I did but still no go.

So your device is still covered by the 1 year warranty contact your dealer or garmin right away for repairs, should be free.

    That is pretty much all you can do, if updating the software doesn't help you will have to send it in for service as the customer service has told you. Your screen problem doesn't seem like software it seems like a hardware problem.

To only way you can fix it is taking apart the Tom Tom, checking if the flat ribbon cable and connector to the screen are well in place and eventually replace the display ($80 on Ebay).
Unfortunately this will invalidate the guaranty, and you risk to damage your GPS if you are not a really experienced DIYer. Tom Tom offer one year full guaranty on all their receivers.

but seriously if u did a update and still doesent work and did the reset u will have to send it back its prolly faulty or something went wrong with the unit

HI,

Please remove the memory card and then do a hard reset.if you still face the problem it is under warranty i strongly recommend you to get it replaced.

Faulty take it back if under warranty
if not go buy a new same one take the one out of the box put the faulty one in there then take it back and get a refund

We have a TomTom GO 630, when we try to use it it starts off fine but then starts flipping through screens, if we try to take it back to the road view it just keeps flipping. It will lock on nearest police...


The issue with your unit is that it has a faulty digitizer. TomTom's do not have a built in calibration for the screen so The item will need to go to TomTom for repair. TomTom can be contact at 866.486.6866.

My Tomtom ONE XL will not start inspite of being connected to the car's system. Is there a special trick to get it to come on?


I tried connecting it to another car's system and it worked. Outlet in primary car needs new fuse. Simple. Sorry to bother you.

Tomtom one won't connect to computer


I tried to download the update and now my is stuck. During installation it was supposed to download 7 components but it quit and gave an errorand could not continue the download. Now whenI turn it on it keeps looping to the tomtom main screen and telling me some legalities, and states it cannot find a gps signal.

I wish I could have the version that camewith it. There should be a op for me to restore it to factory default.

I don't advise updating the software at the website, it worked great at first.

When antenna is open screen starts flipping out of control

My tom tom keeps looping on the start up menu


I to had this same problem. I just about pulled my hair out. The way I fixed mine was to use Tom Tom Home to operate the Tom Tom. It was able to get past the loop and finish the initial set up. I then unhooked it from the computer and it was working by itself.

Threatening shut down


It is probably your internal battery and needs replacement. There is a menu function to not shutdown when loss of power (under battery preference, after screen save). If you don't use the battery, try this.

Tomtom one xl is locked up on the opening screen. the unit is only 2 days old. did i get a looser. please help


Have you tried the reset hole. It should be located on the side or the front, it only the size of a jim cllip hole. Just push it once and the try your TomTom.
