If you have no ice or water you may have a problem with the water line or water supply..

Why is Ice maker for rf26xaewp making ice but it is melting ice to form large cubes and then forcing tray out of lock position

there is usualy a sensor that tells when the ice is ready
and then it melts a little and then releases the ice easy from the tray
perhaps its all jammed up
stop it working for a day or two and give it a good clean with spray water mixed with 5% bleach then plain water
and also check there isnt anything obvious with the tray section mecha wise

i think its got confused somehow
ive even seen ice maker issues caused by poor evaporator tubes from the chiller to the the tray on top of the compressor

so clean the v shaped section at the back and its center tube fully and add some salt
to clean the freezer one you need to fully defrost for a few days and take the back panel off the freezer unit and clean the pipes again salt it

A 11 year old whirlpool fridge.. freezer working but not the fridge.. water dripping out from the shaft between freezer to fridge

HI, sounds like you have 2 problems. First of all, your drain pan in the freezer is clogged and will need to be cleaned out, second: this ice has caused an air flow restriction to the refer section. When you clear out all the ice, look for obstruction that you prevent clean air flow to the refer section. This should solve the problem.
You may have to remove all the food from the freezer, remove shelves and rear wall to clear all the ice. Failure to remove all the ice can prevent air from circulating from section to section. I would not suggest in using a hair dryer, too much heat in the wrong place can cause damage to the liner in the form of warping.
Turn off the unit while doing this de-icing, this will help greatly.
Good Luck

Samsung american style fridge freezer, water and ice dispenser. Freezer, water and ice section fine. Fridge fan started running for extended periods and now is not cooling at all.

Which fan are you referring to? The interior one or the compressor fan? If you are talking about the compressor fan, that isn't good news. And could mean many things.

If you are talking about the interior fan, then the thermost is sensing that the refrigerator section is not cold enough. Which could me that the cooling tubes are blocked or clogged. The most likely is frost build up behind the rear panel of the freezer, meaning a defrost system failure. Hee are some links that might help you troubleshoot which component it is:
The defrost heater is easy to check with a ohm meter. http://www.acmehowto.com/howto/appliance/freezer/check/defrostheater.php If you have continuity, then it is good.

http://www.ehow.com/how_4504020_test-refrigerator-defrost-timer.html is instructions on how to test the timer.

http://www.acmehowto.com/howto/appliance/refrigerator/check/defrosthermo.php is instruction on how to test the defrost thermostat.

You should also check to make sure the the condenser coils are clean and that air flow is good over it. I.E. the fan is operating, and not a lot of debrie on or around the condenser coils.

Hope this helps.

Model 106.57789704 - ice wont release into door bin

This probably is not what you wanted to hear but... I recommend you to the human manual defrost method to free things up as a result of the ice that built up post power failure. That somewhat messy method being:

1. Unplug the unit.
2. Remove Freezer contents (You do not need to empty fresh food contents)
3. Place a fan blowing into the freezer section for around 2 hours. (Messy part so be ready to tend to the drips with rags & mop)

AFTER 2 HOURS
4. Take a rag or sponge and remove most of the water out of the ice maker as best as you can after the manual defrost.
5. Completely empty the ice bin of all ice or water paying particular attention to the auger making sure there is no ice at all in the auger.
6. Plug in the unit.
7. Reload Freezer contents.

This should get things back to normal. If not there is much more that can be attempted. At this time I really believe that the above procedures will normalize your unit. If and when you need more assistance just respond here I and I will gladly assist you.

Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Ice turning into a solid block in freezer. Samsung Refigerator

Hey, Your defrost thermostat or defrost heater may need to be replaced. The frost should be removed every 8 hours automatically. The ice is not freezing all the way into cubes because the temp. is too warm in the freezer to make ice.
The wire may just be a ground wire BUT it may have electrical current going in it.
This is dangerous and need to be repaired. Hope this helps.

Water dispenses, but no ice

there could be two [roblems with the ice make. #1 the line that feeds the water into the ice maker could be frozen inside where it dumps water into the maker. Take a hair dire and gentl thak pout the inlet line tha tthe water feeds into the maker. then reate that maker so that all the blockage is cleared. or #2 tej freezer need to be coolder. Don't rate these solutions unitl your problems are resolved because then i cannot post in the problem any more and also be sure too rate the so]lution after ypour problems are solved and rate accordingly. and gernerouosly. thanks for using FixYa.

Ice maker doesn't make enough ice to supply two senior citizens. This is the 2nd refrigerator we have had installed this month. What can we do to increase the amount of ice it puts out. The ice bin has...

Found in the FAQ section on Samsung.com:
Samsung refrigerator freezers produce about 120 cubes per day, which is in line with most manufacturer specifications.
Empty the ice tray and let the unit run for 24 hours.
If fewer than 50 cubes are produced during the 24-hour test, then your refrigerator requires service. Please contact Samsung Service at 1-800-SAMSUNG to schedule a service appointment.
If your freezer is producing 50 to 90 cubes per day, try the following:
  • Set the freezer temperature display to a lower setting. Freezer temperature must be 5 degrees Fahrenheit or less for the ice maker to work properly.
  • Make sure that the water valve on the refrigerator water supply line is completely open. You can find the water valve where the refrigerator water supply line taps into your house water line.
  • If you have a water filter in your refrigerator, change the filter cartridge. For instructions, see your Users Manual.
If you want your freezer to produce more than 120 ice cubes in a day, try the following:
  • An ice maker typically makes 1 tray of ice every 90 minutes. To shorten the amount of time the freezer takes to produce a tray of ice, set the freezer temperature display to a lower setting.
  • If your refrigerator has a Power Freeze function, press the Power Freeze button to speed up the ice making process. In the Power Freeze mode, both the compressor and the freezer fan run for 10 hours continuously. The ice making interval is reduced from 90 minutes to 55 minutes. If the ice bucket fills in less than 10 hours, Power Freeze stops automatically.
NOTE: If you have just installed your refrigerator, it will take 6 to 12 hours for the refrigerator to produce ice.
You should throw away the first three batches of ice cubes that the ice maker produces (approximately 30 cubes) to ensure the ice maker is making ice from clean water.
