hello there,
I bought a Samsung SH-S202N/BEBN a week ago. I already had a DVD Drive previously so I replced it with this new one. I also had another free slot for a new drive and I bought another SH-S202N/BEBN.
Now the second SH-S202N/BEBN drive is not showing up in "My Computer" and also the previous had stopped working but is visible in "My Computer". Please help, I have no idea what to do!

- just to clarify, my first samsung drive was working until I plugged in the second SH-S202N/BEBN drive.I read somewhere about the master and slave drive, does it has anything to do with this?

Check the jumpers on the back of the drive to ensure you have no conflicts. There are 3 settings M, S, CS which mean master, slave and cable select.
Cable select requires a special cable in your computer with fine pitch 80 wires, usually with one blue connector at the motherboard, one black for the master drive and one grey for the slave. This colour code is not used by all computer manufacturers, though and they may all just be grey.
If you have this cable, make sure the jumper on your drives is set to CS. Otherwise, on each cable (there should be 2 in your computer and the hard drive should definately be master on one) you can have only one master device and one slave.

- Certainly the jumper settings make a difference, and incorrect settings can make both drives inoperable. Can you boot into your BIOS setup and see what is recognized there?Here is what the jumpers look like:
