overall its time to let go of the game boy color games try getting a DS its much better but back to your problem... IT IS NOT THE CARTRIGE!! your game boy will not accept the cartrige because of the mechanics in it deteriorating
the game cartridge is dirty. get a q-tip, put it in the open side of the cartridge game and clean the metal parts that look like piano keys. hope this helps ;p please rate solution
theres a broken connection somewhere if even the LED doesn't even come on. I doubt theres even an internal fuse on the gameboy.
The only thing you might be able to fix was a faulty on/off switch - have you tried shorting the switch contacts with something metal?
