Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

How to check your internet speed.

Most people never check the speed of their internet connection. It is a good idea to check it from time to time to make sure you are getting the internet speed that you are paying for. Here is a good site that I found to give you reliable test to indicate your internet speed.

Basic Internet connection Troubleshooting

Test if your actually connected to the internet.

This assumes web pages fail. if not pingtest.net is one of many great sites to test connection speed.

Select 'Start' button
Select 'Run'
Type 'cmd'
Select 'Ok'
This opens a command window. Black with white text.
Type "ping 4.2.2.2" without quotes.
If you see "reply from" then you are connected but you may need to test DNS resolution.

DNS test:

Same command window.
Type "ping pingtest.net" without quotes

If you get a 'reply from' then you can resolve DNS.

If any of these ping test fail start with resetting your connection, see ipconfig /renew and/or ipconfig /flushdns then reviewing your connections and possibly contact your ISP.

Doing a Repair on XP - Vista - Windows 7 does the same (but more) as ipconfig.

INTRENET SLOW

Hello santa334,
To test the speed of your internet connection, simply go to http://www.speedtest.net and click the "Begin Test" button.
If your internet speed is very poor. Contact your Internet Service Provider with the information found on SpeedTest. This will help them solve your issue.
Hope this helps! Please give 4 thumbs up if it did!

I'm uploading a video with 20.9MB..the result is too long and it can't upload to my facebook

Hi there,
What is your Internet Speed? it could be because the bandwidth is too small to upload the file..try going to www.speedtest.net so you can test the download and upload speed. Otherwise, you might want to try using another computer or check if your Internet Service Provider offers a better deal.
Hope this helps!

My DSL is terribly slow. I have grissoft and have tried that and also have done a disc defrag. What else can I do?

Run a speed test on your DSL, here:
http://speedtest.net/
When your test has completed, call up your ISP and see if this is a normal speed rating for your DSL. If it is and you are not happy with the speed, you should upgrade your internet to either fiberoptic (if it is available in your area), fast DSL, or cable internet.
Also post your results here and I will walk you through speeding up your computer.
please rate my solution

Internet Speed Prob

Because the speed also depends on how fast the site you download from is. For the www.speedtest.net and similar it's always almost at the maximum possible for your line because they are using very small packets of data and they send them as fast as they can.
When you download something the packets are much larger and your line can't get them faster. There are some download managers that are capable to trick your line into thinking there are multiple downloads at the same time when in reality there's only one - so you will get a faster download speed - but very few sites support them. In the end, even with one of them, if your line is slow you wouldn't get too much speed increase.
Just try it and see.

Internet card

Well you really shouldent need to get a new internet card because most computers manufactured within the last 10 years have a lan port on them. the lan port is basiclly the highspeed internet port. try doing a speedtest at http://www.speedtest.net. It could be that you are downloading files from slow or bogged servers. but 10mbps is a fast connection.....veryfast.
