How to get a third computer to work on my wireless network

I have set up a wireless home network so that my wife and daughter can use the internet, im a real novice at computers, but iv seemed to have my wifes up and running. My daughters i am having real problems with.I cannot get it connected,on her computer the wireless adapter is working fine, but it keeps coming up with not connected, cannot find server. Im i missing something i dont want to mess around to much incase i knock all the settings and end up worse than iam now Hi.
I've been using wireless internet on my lap top without a problem, until we connected another desktop to the wiireless system. My laptop now will not connect at all (cannot find server), even though it says i am connected with excellent signal. It worked for about an hour, and hasn't worked since (over a week).
Tried rebooting a lot, and 'pinging'.
4 sent, 4 lost.
Any thoughts..thanks.

Check first that your laptop is connecting to your own network, and not by mistake, to some neighbor's network.
To do this click on show wireless networks available using the wireless option (usually you can start it from a small icon near to the clock.
If it is not working fastest way to proceed is removing the network card from installed devices in control panel and installing it back.
This will solve driver problems and reset network settings.
You will need to enter the network key again after doing this.
Ensure you know you network encryption key unless you are using an unprotected network (no key).

Home computer with no internet service at all and someone is on our computer some how and looking in to our house how and who is it

Without knowing more about your setup, there are a few ways this can happen. First, some computers allow remote connecting via Bluetooth so check your Bluetooth security settings to ensure nothing is paired up that shouldn't be. Second, if you have a wireless network people can still connect to it even if no internet is present. Third, if your home computer has it's wireless active there is a very remote chance it could be mistakenly configured so someone could connect directly to the computer. Network security is a big deal and any wireless source could give an outside individual access to your network. That said, without the internet the individual would have to be local and pretty close to your wireless source, so it shouldn't be too hard to find out who it is.

Hope that helps.........

Oddly enough I did almost the exact same thing. I sucessfully installed and printed a test page on my wife's Win7 notebook, and was almost ready to install on my XP Pro notebook and daughter's computer. When I got it installed on my XP Pro notebook, it failed. Since then I have been trying to get the network to see it. It doesn't work! Even when I hardwire plug directly into my router, the router does not acknowledge something is plugged in. To eliminate the possibility of faulty networking cable, I used the same port and cable for my Apple TV unit. It worked just fine. The the TEW-MP1U appears to be a brick at this point. It only gives a green status light, my appears to have no network functionality any longer, wired or wireless. What gives?????????????

The router's password is a Passphrase or the WEP or WPA orWPA2 encryption key. The Passphrase generates the WEP or WPA or WPA2 encryptionkey and this is in the router's wireless settings. To connect to your wireless router, it needs the router'swireless settings configured ie SSID, WPA or WPA2 encryption key and also thewireless cards in all the laptops and or computers needs to be configured withthese router's wireless settings. Then the laptops and desktop computers cancommunicate with your wireless router.

You will need to check the wireless settings of the router.
You said that it works only with the ethernet connection but not with the wireless connection.
Check the IP address of the computer when it is connected with the cable to the router. note down the default gateway number.
Open the set up interface of your router with the Default gateway number.
once you are able to open the set up interface of your router, you will be able to change the wireless settings of the router.
after that you will need to conncet to the wireless network on your laptop.

Unable to get wireless connection at a new location

Hi...

Verizon uses PPOE(point to point protocol over ethernet) and Comast does not use PPOE. Therefore she needs to get inside the router 168.192.1.1(user:admin & pdw: admin) to disable the "PPOE". Oh and also, the router needs to be hard wired to the computer for reconfiguration to take place...hope this helps

How to wirelessly access HP Laserjet 1320n via Apple iBook

You need to disconnect the USB cable and set it up wireless on both units:
Since it is plugged into the router, it should already have an IP address.
Un-install the printer from the computers.
Then re-install the printer from the cd or from HP's website. When you get to the point where it ask you is the printer is attached to the computer or is it over the network. Choose over the net work and the software will find the printer IP and finish setting it up wireless.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

Can't connect new laptop to internet through wireless

Hi...if you mean the network key, the key Windows asks for when you try to connect to a secured network, you can find this within your router settings.
As this is a 2wire model, you might also find it on a label on the router - it depends if you changed the default settings.

Please visit this page for help:
http://support.2wire.com/?page=view&article=60

- it will show you where the default network key is on the label, or if you have changed it, how to login to your router and to find it in your settings (see screenshot at base of page - your network key will just be labelled 'key'.....)
