Question about Printers & Copiers

1 Answer

Toshiba E65 Did PM - Refilled developer - ran 05 - 200 code for setting the DV the simulation ran until it would go into the adjust mode than showed error with no error code. Changed the toner sensor on the DV unit still same problem. Tried to make copies with out setting DV and all I get is add toner forever and the drum turning black. Moved entire "guts" of machine into another machine and had no problems. Took the "guts" out of that machine and placed into the original Iam talking about and had exactly the same problems.

How about the drum bias is it getting grounded. How about this was there a problem there before you did the developer change? Did you replace the opc and reset the counter? How about this... did you switch out one unit at a time... switching them out one at a time till the problem shows up. Also change the primary and trans fer you may have a arching problem???

L4-5 error code

Trouble content The motor lock signal is detected during rotation of the developing motor
Cause 1 Harness connection trouble between the PCU PWB
and the developing motor.
Cause 2 Developing motor trouble, control circuit trouble
Cause 3 Too much toner in the DV caused it to jam

Solution Get into simulation mode and run sim 25-1 to test if the motor will turn. If it does not turn then you need to check your harness or motor. If it does turn clear the code with sim 14-1 or by turning off both power switches, and then see if the code comes back. If it comes back then perhaps your voltage bias was far off on one of your colors. Check each of the DV units to see if one of them is packed full of toner. Whichever one it is you will need to replace the developer and then run sim 25-1 to set a new bias for that color. It is also possible the DV sensor went out and caused that color to load up.

1. Start and end of simulations Note: The "PAUSE" key in the descriptions means the "INTERRUPT" key. Simulation IN The Simulation IN mode becomes only available from the Copy mode screen. In the simulation mode, printer operation is inhibited. Printer operation is also inhibited in either of the Aging mode or the Adjustment Copy mode. The printer selection key is disabled, too. By operating the keys [C] – [PAUSE] – 0/g – [PAUSE], the simulation main code input screen appears. * If the interval between any two key operations is more than 5 seconds, the entry into the simulation mode is canceled. (Ref.) 1 ~ 9: Loading/ sensor checks 10 ~ 19: Resetting troubles 20 ~ 29: Counter/mode setting 30 ~ 39: Sensor activation checks 40 ~ 59: Adjustments 60 ~ 69: Digital readout and printer Simulation OUT The simulation can be terminated by pressing the [CA] key. 2. Simulation main code input screen SIMULATION NO. _ INPUT MAIN NO. AND PRESS PRINT SWITCH 1 If any trouble has occurred when the trouble code is requested, the 7-segment readout displays the trouble code (main only). [Note] The trouble code is canceled when the copier enters the simulation IN mode. [Note] The 7-segment readout becomes blank when the copier enters the simulation IN mode. 2 Only the [PRINT] key LED comes on. [Note] The [PRINT] key LED is usually OFF. It comes on when the copier waits for the [PRINT] key to be turned ON in the simulation mode. 3 The main code input area (2 digits) waits for the input of a main code. [Numeric Key]: Main code input [Note] Codes are entered in the ring format. [PRINT]: Sets entered data. [C]: Clears entered data. [CA]: Terminates simulation. H3-XX codes involve the fusing unit temperature being too low or too high.

Try resetting the error.

[C] – [INTERRUPT] – [0] – [INTERRUPT]
Type in 1 4
Hit [PRINT]
Turn power off then on if it doesn't do it automatically.
If error doesn't reset then you have other trouble
I hope you ran the developer setup and reset all of the parts counters for the items you replaced. Not setting the developer reference can cause a host of problems.
Sim 25-02 adjusts developer.
Sim 42 clears DV counter
