Try reistalling web cam. Is the mic built into the webcam. Maybe the internetr you have is too good. maybe you should go back with the other internet and see if that helps. It the problem persistes, contact here again!

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

This problem occured whenever im making a video call on skype but the same webcam works effectively on msn and yahoo messenger.i see the person im chatting with but my cam is black without any image.

Only one of these programs can use the cam at a time. please close all your programs, make sure they are closed and not just running down there by the clock. then you should be able to use your web cam with Skype. Skype likes to keep video resources all to itself . Reverse happens often as well. Skype will then work , but nothing else. silly but true, Cheers Gurvy

What sites can I use for my webcam that are compatible with mikomi DC-7130. I would have liked Skype but can't get it to work. Easy language please ! I'm completely computer illiterate

Hi,

You can use your webcam with every site if you set up it correctly in the program that you will use such as skype, yahoo messenger, msn messenger etc.

First of all you must install it correctly to your PC.

And then set up it in the program that you used. You say that you would like to work in skype. You can set it up in skype as I described below:

Run skype and log in.

In the top skype menu, select "Tools" and "Options".

In the new window, click on the "Audio settings" and see the microphone and audio is set up as your video/audio card in your PC. If not set up it. I mean you must see the name of your PC2's audio/video card in there not the name of webcam.

Click on the "Video settings" on the left menu. Set up the person list that you want to let you see in skype. You can select only the person who is in your friend list can see you.

Then test it.

I hope it helps.

Hi ihave an acer aspire 5600 .My webcam works with other aplications but not on skype and msn.Could you please help me?

Before you can use your webcam in any chat program you have to configure it to that program

Test your webcam here to make sure it broadcasts ok - Hit 'Allow' in the top window and check your cam in the left hand panel.

http://www.testmycam.com/

working OK ?

CONFIGURE TO SKYPE
Connect webcam
Its good practice to disconnect and re-connect your webcam before you start (To reboot the webcam software) - if you have been using it elsewhere the SKYPE software may have difficulty in locating it, even if you exited the previous program correctly.
The reason being, the webcam software can remain hooked-up to a program and needs to be rebooted.
Mine, I just unplug it from the USB and plug it back in to reboot the software.
If yours is integral with the computer you will have to re-start the computer, use a keyboard shortcut or disable / enable the webcam from the Device Manager.

Start Skype.
On the 'Tools' menu, click 'Options'.
In the navigation pane of the Skype 'Options' window, click 'Audio Settings'
Run down the list setting your defaults
Select your webcam as the default microphone.
Make a free test call
Click 'Save'
In the navigation pane of the Skype Options window, click Video Settings.
This will launch your webcam
Adjust quality of picture in 'Settings'
Check the correct webcam is shown as default
Click Save
Test your webcam by making a Skype test call.
For more information about how to configure Skype Messenger, please visit the following Skype Web site:
http://support.skype.com (http://support.skype.com)

WINDOWS LIVE MESSENGER ( MSN)
Test your webcam here to make sure it broadcasts ok - Hit 'Allow' in the top window and check your cam in the left hand panel.

Having proved your cam is working ,you can configure it to WLM (MSN)

CONFIGURE SOFTWARE to MSN
Its good practice to disconnect and re-connect your webcam before you start - if you have been using it elsewhere the MSN software may have difficulty in locating it, even if you exited the previous program correctly.
The reason being, the webcam software can remain hooked-up to a program and needs to be rebooted.

If yours is integral with the computer you will have to re-start the computer, use a keyboard shortcut or disable / enable the webcam from the Device Manager.

Open MSN
Click 'Open Menu'
From 'Tools; navigate to, and click, 'Audio and Video setup'
Set your speakers
Click 'Test' - if OK, move on.
Set your mic as default
Use the slider to set volume and test.
Click 'Next'
This takes you to the video setup
Your webcam should be broadcasting - (if not - make sure the webcam is set as default - restart MSN)
Use 'Webcam Settings'to fine tune the picture.
Click 'Finish'

How do i communicate with other people wi the use of the web cam

You can use one of many services, MSN messenger, Google Video Chat, Skype, these services are usually free.

The other person you wish to talk to should also use the same software to make thing easier.

Good luck

I have sound problems with skype, speech cutting and a lot of noises

if you right click on the realtek audio manager at the bottom right hand corner of yr screen, then hit the microphone tab, you might be able to run 'acoustic echo cancellation'.
otherwise, turn up your microphone a bit, and make sure you have enough bandwidth, ie your not running torrents or have msn messenger sending or receiving a file or something (or indeed running at all, it is sucky bloatware hoho).
try turning the pc sound down a bit and the skype volume up a bit.
otherwise we just have to wait for skype to improve, as i'm sure it will do as more people use the service. good luck..
