Check num lock key of laptop press num lock if numlock key is on and off when you press it then dispaly working fine only issue with screen resolution . For that when you power up the computer press F8 key then enter in enable vga mode. Then go to start menu ->control panel->display->settings. Change screen resolution to 1024*768 then apply and ok. But if num lock is constant when you press numlock key then you need to refix RAM memory.Open back cover of laptop then refix RAM memory. Then check if still same issue then pull cmos cell from motherboard then check again if still same then try with another RAM . When you power up the computer press F1 or F2 or "del" key if you are able to see bios screen then you not need to open back cover of laptop only make sure SATA is disabled and your harddrive is detected in bios. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.
Depends on if you want it to lock again. If you do, locksmith, if not, Drill it. I never worked on one of those before but I looked at some pictures and it looks like that's really all you can do.
Found my own solution, though it cost me a bit. A kernal program was corrupted and interfering the computer's ability to recognize key presses. I ran the Recovery disc and reloaded XP. It solved the problem, but I lost my C: drive data. Most of it I had backed up before, so a moderate inconvenience.
Now, if anyone has a good idea about how to recover my lost data, that would be nice.
