Hotpoint Ultima WF860. The whole cycle will complete without the drum turning. You can hear an electrical hum during the periods when the drum should be turning. Previous to this fault occuring the drum was making a hell of a racket whilst turning, like the bearings were worn. Any help much appreciated.

If the machine wasn't excessively noisy before and when you select spin only you can't hear the motor running its likely to be the carbon brushes in the motor worn down till they no longer contact stick a new set in if the carbon length sticking out the brass holder is less than around half an inch long
ours did the same as this........ it needed a new control board after checking everything you have mentioned. it was a couple of years ago and at that time it was a hotpoint part only. but they can be picked up on ebay for around 30-40 quid.
Try cleaning out the dirty water pipe. Mine was completely blocked up with scale and soap powder. We used a coat hanger and went from the out side as well. The water now pumps out completely without leaving any left under the drum
Check the motor and the belt on the back of the unit behind the rear plate. Make sure that the belt is attached and the motor is spinning. If this helped please rate. Thank you
The belt goes around the drum and onto the motor pulley. No need to loosen anything. Put tension on the belt and fit it onto the motor pulley by gently turning the motor and pushing the belt onto the pulley at the same time.
