I have my pioneer djm 600 for about 5 years. I went to sell it the other day and turned it on. It worked perfectly except it was only playing through one speaker. I checked the speakers and they were fine....

You've got dirty pots mate! You need to clean all the dust and **** from inside the sliders and the circular trims. The plastic shaft ALPS pots in the DJM600 don't have a sealing bush so if you pull the knob off and spray some "no-residue contact cleaner" down the shaft you may get it to the bottom. DO NOT use WD40 as that leaves an oil and will clog the pots (as the oil will eventually mix with new dust and make a gloopy paste) This would then break the sweeper contact with the resistive surface.

Virtually all the ALPS pots on the 600 are stereo so as you have lost a channel some of your pots have lost connection already. Cleaning may help but if not you may need to strip down desolder the troublesome ones and replace (or if your feeling brave bend open the tabs and clean internally)

Don't worry though. I got the right cleaner (electronic use no-residue stuff) from a car accessory shop and it all started working again without opening her up.

Master channel problem

There is a master gain volume on the rear of the unit. Make sure this is not maxed out. Keep it between 1/2 to 3/4's of the ay up.

If this does not solve your problem, your going to have to give me more details. What do you mean when you say "moved off 0 peaks red on left"? Do you mean that when you lower the master volume, the left signal is still hot (red)?

Get yourself a manual. It will help you. You can DOWNLOAD A FREE COPY of the PIONEER DJM600 INSTRUCTION MANUAL from HERE.

Now, you have to use the CUE button function on each channel to select what you want to hear when you cue things in the headphones. Last, you control the volume of the master cue in the headphones using the CUE volume of the headphone CUE section.

Dj mixer problem

The fuse will do nothing in regards to protecting from such a voltage surge. The fuse is only good for minor power issues. Not stepping down the voltage is not a minor issue, and more than likely the transformer blew.

At this stage, you'll need to have it repaired by an service technician. This way they can test for any other damage to the unit.

Mixing knob problem

What do you mean you put the master to cue to hear something from the master? You should be ableto hear the master at all times then choose wha channel you are cuing up. Sounds like a pot. problem on the switch or board.
