Question about Transcend StoreJet 2.5 (TS120GSJ25T) 120 GB USB 2.0 Hard Drive

Windows XP driver?

Hi, I purchased a StoreJet removeable harddrive which, according to the manual, shouldn't need a separate driver for Windows XP. However, when I plug it into my computer, my computer detects new hardware but the harddrive never shows up in My Computer. Any suggestions?

I have Transcend 1TB 25 inch StoreJet H2 USB 20 Portable Hard Drive... not long enough, it's broken; there's a sound "clutch - clutch - clutch"... I cries for my valuable data... Why...


Inside the plastic case of the Transcend StoreJet H2 1TB, is a small circuit board, and a laptop size harddrive.

The small circuit board is an Interface Board.
The harddrive plugs into it, or there are cables which come from the Interface Board, and plug into the harddrive.
The other end of the Interface Board has a USB cable attached to it.

Most of the time it is this small circuit board that fails. Very rarely does the harddrive fail.
(Unless the external harddrive was dropped)

I would suggest removing the harddrive from the Transcend, and putting it into an inexpensive external enclosure.

I have bafo-bf-1284 usb to parallel converter but i don't have driver cd. problem creating to install this product in windows 7 or windows xp please help me.


The BF-1284 driver (zip file) is available from BAFO support: http://www.bafo.com/menu-support.asp . Scroll down the list to the desired product. The driver is for Win98se and Windows Me. You shouldn't need a separate driver for Win7; the drivers should be in the OS. (See the link on Windows 7 compatibility near the top of the URL given above.) I suspect the driver should also be available in the OS for XP.

If your computer doesn't find the driver automatically, check if the driver is listed in Windows Update as optional updates. (You may have to manually check for updates.)

click here Click on above link select your model and download driver then install. Also follow below. First make sure usb cable connected to harddrive is working fine. try it in different usb ports. Press windows key +R key so you can see run then type in run "devmgmt.msc" then press ok so you can see device manager uninstall all usb drivers then it automatic install usb drivers. then check. Also you need to change registry for that type in run "regedit" then press ok then you can see registry editor then locate below key. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11 CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} And remove upper filter and lower filter.Then restart computer then check. u may got installation cd for storage device.if not download software from www.transcend.uk  ......... otherwise try for this..

goto control panel...
then goto add hardware...

I have just purchased a samsung printer, but it says on the user sheet "according to the policy Microsoft does not support Windows 98 USB Driver and PS Driver of Windows ME/NT. Does that mean I can't...


no, it means if your windows version is win 98, then you need a separate driver for the printer to work with usb. You can use the printer for other versions of windows like win XP and win 2000 or maybe even windows Vista
