Question about RIM BlackBerry Pearl 8100

Security options Hi there, could you please help with setting temporary security - mean sometimes I don`t want people to see my number (comes as private - for business purposes). Any solutions? Many thanks

This one is easy! Thise setting are in the phone section. Just go into the phone, go to options, go to general options, and restrict your identity.

Forgot security code, can't turn on phone!


What is your mobile and model ?
If you forgot the security code you have to reset you mobile.......... Its the only way to use your mobile again. After resetting you can enter a new security code again.

The phone is locked on flight mode


You may try default phone and security code to remove restrictions.
ur defalt phones codes is 12345 or 00000 u can use it
Default 4 Digit user code: 1234 or 0000
Default 6 Digit Security code: 123456 or 000000

if not solved tell me your IMIE number

type *#06# on your phone to get IMIE number

Still Not Solved

Please type *#7780# to reset to factory settings.

NOTE:Restoring will delete all your datas.

When you give this code it will prompt for security code.Default security code is 12345.If you changed it please enter that code.

It will bring your mobile to factory settings

Want to change users -delete all info already on the phone so i may put my info-resetting it is what i would like to do


1. On the device main screen go to Settings
2. Then go to Options (The wrench icon. This may be on the main screen)
3. Press the S key until you are on Security
4. In Security, select General Settings
5. In General Settings, click the Options button to the left of the trackball and select Wipe handheld
Click Continue on the warning, check the box to delete application as well, if it comes up, and enter “Blackberry” as requested. Once this process is started, all data on the device will be lost.
You can now activate and put your own data on the device

When I try to install my ebooks library for reader it says to check my internet connection, which is fine!!! it will not finish the installation.


If attempting to connect to the Reader (eBook) Store by Sony on a computer that is connected to a network through a proxy server, contact your IT support specialist for assistance in configuring your proxy server settings to allow access to the Reader (eBook) Store by Sony. It is not possible to adjust these settings through the Reader (eBook) Library software.
  1. Check your security software settings. Some security settings may not allow the Reader (eBook) Library software to access the Reader (eBook) Store and will need to be adjusted to allow access to the Reader (eBook) Store. Determine if the security software is causing the issue.NOTE: Various different Internet security or parental control software may block access to the Reader (eBook) Store. Some software may request a password to unblock the store site. If a password is requested, enter your password to access the site.
    1. Temporarily disable the security software.
    2. From in the Internet Explorer software, on the menu bar, click Tools , then click Internet Options .
    3. In the Internet Options window, click the General tab
    4. In the Browsing History section, click the Delete... button.
    5. In the Delete Browsing History window, in the Temporary Internet Files area, click the Delete files... button.
    6. In the Delete Files window, click Yes .
    7. Attempt to access the Reader (eBook) Store Web site through the Reader (eBook) Library software.If you are able to access the store with the security software disabled, the security settings will need to be adjusted. If you are still unable to access the store, continue with troubleshooting.
    8. Re-enable the security software.
    NOTE: The steps to adjust the security software settings varies by manufacturer. Consult the help files of the software or contact the manufacturer for assistance. A list of contact information for some popular security software.

Just wont receive sms texts


Hi, please check in Blackberry handset for firewall settinb is enabled to receive sms,
1) Go to Options
2) Advance Option
3) Security settings
4) Please check if the incoming sms message is enabled
5) if it is enabled then please remove it.
6) Save or Ok
If this is not working then the message centre number would be wrong, please comtact your Service provider.

Hi Mr.

To delete all the data, go into Options / Security Options / General Settings, clik the wheel and then click Wipe Handheld.

This will remove all of the DATA, and not any of the applications.
