Our packard bell easy note te69kb laptop is stuck on shutting down screen as if it didn't close properly when last used

I suspect there has just been a windows update and it is confused. If it won't close down, hold the power button down until it does and than re boot. The issue should clear.

One possibility is that the replacement battery, the replacement AC adapter, or both are defective.

You need to check your charger first. Use a voltmeter to make sure that the output matches the prescribed output.

Packard bell easy note tj65 will not power up

the short cable running from the power button to the main board has probably snapped where it passes over the RH hinge. remove the screen surround to gain access to the power on switch area and check. it would seem to be a common fault with the packard bell

6 screens showing on laptop

If you have the correct type of mouse on Windows XP and the scroll wheel clicks, this is what you have done click it again to return to the normal desktop. I think that you will find that you have the BSOD (blue screen of death) have you recently installed new memory or installed a USB device like a memory stick.

If you hit F8 on startup and then start the windows with last known good config this might start up correctly. If this fails then could you let me know what one of the blue screens says.

Enter Safe mode and then install this reg tweak to disable BSOD and then restart you should be able to read what the screen says.

I believe that this is something that has been developed in Vista to make it easier to see you minimized windows.

LOL

My laptop show blue screen

It sounds like it is time to reinstall Windows.
RIght after power on, tap either the F5 or F8 key (not always the same) to see if that will pull up a short text menu with different boot possibilitiesm, one of which might be 'Recover.'
