You need to access your router's setup page in order to get the wep key. follow the steps below

- open a web browser and type http://192.168.11.1 on the address bar. the default username is "root" and leave the password blank
- you will be prompted with your router's page, go to the wireless settings
- then go to wireless security, there you will find your wep key or the encryption that you needed to connect wirelessly

hope this'll help and just ask me if you have other concern

ciao!

Router works with ethanet cable but not via wireless

Hello
You need to log into the router. Then turn wireless on.

This is done at the routers homepage.Check with the manufacturer on how to log into the router.

You can also try a reset.
1 Unplug all cables to router
2 Hold small button in for 1 min, button is located in the back of router.
3 Plug power cable back in first, then other cables.

I can access internet through wireless but cant access my iphone although it is conected with buffalo router but not accessing internet

I thought that the iPhone was connected to the internet thru IBM's cellular network, and did not
know how to talk to a wireless cable router at all.... note that the iPhone has no idea what
802.11n WiFi standard is... the iPhone uses 2 technologies to communicate with the AT&T network,
the iPhone 4G has two models, a CDMA model, and a GSM model...

Trying to connect buffalo router to comcast modem for wireless internet

You will need to use the MAC address of your PC. Do an IPConfig/all while connected with a ethernet cable. That's whatg you need to put in under Wan--> WAN MAC address

I reset my router, and now I cannot connect to it with it's http://192.168.11.1/index.htm address. Is there a step I didn't have to do before, or is it possibly broken?

Make sure that router configuration switch is in AUTO position AND your PC is connected to LAN port.
Power cycle both, computer and router.
192.168.11.1 is default address and should be accessible after.

Let me verify your network configuration with you. You have your modem connected to the WAN/Internet port of your router via an ethernet cable and then your PC connected to your router via another ethernet cable, correct?

If this is your setup, then try this:
  1. Unplug the power cord from the modem & router
  2. Plug the power cord into the modem and wait for it to boot up (most modems have an "Internet/Connection" light to indicate they are connected to the ISP)
  3. Plug in the power to the router, wait for it to complete the bootup process (usually when the lights stop flashing it's done), and see what happens.

You may simply have incompatibility issues, there now where near as problimatic as they used too but still exists. First off make sure that when you try to connect that you have the right security settings, (if used the disk from the router or had somebody install it you should have written it down). When configuring your router always do it with a hard wire connected so as you don't drop yourself every time you change a wireless setting.
Take your laptop to a free wifi hotspot as way to make sure that your wireless card actually works. But if you can see your network it sounds more like a security setting issue.
