make sure the card is plugged in properly...also make sure you have installed the latest service pack for xp64 bit...because it requires the latest service pack to be installed on the system, only then the sound card will get detected...
for xp 32 bit edition... at least sp2 with Microsoft UAA driver update for sound card must be installed in your computer...

Open device manager and right-click on Audio device on High definition Audio Bus. Select Install from a list of specific location (Advanced) Click Next Select Don’t Search. Select Sound, Game & video controller from the list of Hardware type Click on Have Disk Click on Browse and navigate to C:swsetupsp35270 and click on .ini file OK Click Next It will give you an update driver warning message. Click on yes. It will start installing the driver Click on Finish.. follow these steps to all drivers install.
You have given a incomplete question. What I wanted know is whether you don't have a sound card driver or you do not know how to install the driver.
If you don not have the drivers let me know the driver name I ll try to get the link where you can download the driver.
If you do not know how to install the drivers means, then if you have the motherboard CD you will have the driver in it. Just insert the CD in the CD ROM, it shows the list of driver(like sound driver, LAN driver, Chipset driver, USB driver & so on) select the exact option and just follow the steps.
get a new soundcard GO46 is a bag of trouble. I had to get a special Firewire Card with a Texas Instrument chip, since the cheap internal firewire interfaces don't work with this card. Also make sure you are not running XP64, since it is not supported. good luck
