Re: router gets disconnected
you can try to unplug the power cords and phone jacks to all your cordless landline phones in the house from the wall and see if that makes any difference, sometimes those interfere with the routers wireless connections, and wreaks havoc, if thats it try to change the channel on your cordless phone or get a different brand of cordless. If your internet light is going on and off in sequence with your modem internet light you might have a connection problem, depending if your cable or dsl, if your dsl make sure you have noise chockes on every phone or you will get that sparatic internet problem. If your cable, make sure all your tvs are connected securely or try and undo all the cable from every tv except the modem and work your way back to the bad connection untill you find the problem.

Solved: Belkin G+ Mimo Wireless Router Issue
Ever since i bought this Belkin G+ Mimo Router, i've been having this problem, but couldn't find the time to take it back (or too lazy, whatever). :P
Trouble is, frequently when surfing the net, the router disconnects, for no reason. It happens almost everytime i go on youtube, and just some random sites i go on, will cause the router to disconnect. Can't seem to find the answer anywhere else, so i took it upon myself to register and ask you guys. Have no clue what the problem is, was thinking maybe a port issue, but since the router is uPnP i don't see how, besides, could that even cause it to disconnect? Anyway, any help is appreciated.
Your router has small NAT table and when this table overflows, router hangs and Internet connection disconnects. You can solve router disconnects with Router Commander software. This software accelerate your router using dynamic NAT feature and other technologies that speed ups router and prevent it from disconnecting. You can get it from www.routercommander.com . Good Luck.
HI jamesbigble. To see if I understood your problem correctly. You are using a computer thru a router. And the router is connected to a modem. After a while all the lights on the router are lit. And then you have to unplug it and plug it in again and it will work for a while right? Well, if that's the case, that's the router for sure, you need to replace it. If you see something like that happening to the modem, well the same answer for the modem. If any modem, router or switch have all the lights lit, it means some serious problem. Maybe hardware/power or firmware issue. In case you dont want to spend money, I would recommend go to the netgear website and download the latest firmware for your router and try it. I hope this helps. Please dont forget to rate and write positive feedback for our fast-free support today. Thank you :D
Check to fix with the router's warranty.
Somethings that you could try yourselves are:
- Disconnect the router and power it down.
wait for 30 secs and switch it on.
- Go into the router settings and change the transmitting channel to either 1,6 or 11.
These steps are to avoid air traffic congestions.
There are two things involved in getting disconnected either your comp is getting disconnected or your router.
Computer getting disconnected connect your comp and router with ethernet cable if using wireless. Because at times it's not router but the wireless connectivity that gets loost.
Router getting disconnected...
Reset your router by holding the reset pin at the back of your router for 15 secs and lights will start flashing on router wait for 1 min you'll have router reset to default settings and now check that dsl or internet light on your router is flashing or static if flashing contact your isp issue with the line if static run the disc for router installation again and it'll remain connected after successful installation.
Turn on your Xbox console with no game disc in the disc tray.
From the Xbox Dashboard, choose Settings, and then Network Settings.
The 12-digit number at the bottom-right corner of theNetwork Settings
screen is the MAC address of your Xbox console. Do not change your Xbox
console MAC address; just write it down so that you can use it later.
you have a direct connection from your Xbox to your modem, you'll have
to disconnect it and reconnect your PC to access the Internet.
